She is Finally Potty Trained

honey i thought my baby girl was going to be wearing those pampers to college. she just didn't want to learn. but when i started talking about big girl school she just said ok let me do this. try winning him over with something that he really likes

i would definitely try that since he log carrying his brother book bag and he keep saying hes going to shool

she is going to daycare because my aunt who keeps her while i am at working is moving. which breaks my heart. but you know people have to do what is best for them.

i am not sure how long she has been going potty on her own, but i think you should just do it maybe like ever other nite. i know for me as a working mother, i am to tired to have to get up to wake her up to go. she is a hard sleeper. so i just let her go without a diaper on the weekends to bed. this way i don't mind waking her up to go. i make sure she doesn't have anything to drink at least two hours before bed. in the next couple of weeks, i am going to try ever other nite with a diaper on and off. see what happens. what i did was now just buy the cheapest diapers that i can find being that she only wears them at nite. good luck and i hope i helped

Yes! Thank you very much. That's just what I needed to hear. I had not thought about the water aspect. She often does have water or milk before bedtime. And, that water has got to go! I'll try out the suggestions for overnight potty training a little over time, and get her used to the new routine. She's pretty much like most kids; gradual changes work best. I wouldn't worry about the nite time diaper. Statistics show that a child
who sleeps soundly will wet the bed often and up to 12 years of age before they can control their bladder for 8 to 10 hours. It's something we have to learn to live with.
On my sons 5th birthday he had a friend stay overnight and this was the first time
he was able to arouse himself enough to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. After that it gradually became a habit.

thanks kowgirl, you are so right. and now that she knows she is going to big girl school we have not had one problem of her wetting her pants. she is just good to go.
