Rosey Gone ftom the View As of Yesterday | | Ok, if you live in the us you probably know Rosey was on the view and she is a VERY liberal Lesbian (wich is cool). We also know he bipolar opposite Elisabeth H. Is also on the view is pregnant (and moody) and has very conservative thought and like Rosey likes to talk about them.
I am sure you all heard about there argument regarding the Iraq War. First off I like Rosey, the view was far more interesting with her on it. Without her it is a snooze fest!
Secound I do not support the war in Iraq I never did from day one. I think its really sad that so many people have died over Bush's lies. Don't get me wrong I am an American and I support or troops just not the war. I know some are going to get mad and say if you don't suppor the war then you don't support the troops whatever thats how I feel. I have friends that are troops and feel the same way.
Ok I went off topic! What do you think about Rosie the argument? Who do you think was right? Also are you going to miss Rosie. I for one will not watch it, not out of protest just because I am not interested.
Ok if you don't know or missed it this is part of the fight. I found it on MSN. -------------------------------------------------------- O'Donnell's statement last week about the war: "655,000 Iraqi civilians have died. Who are the terrorists?"
Now I do not think she is saying the troops are terrorist I think she is talking about our government. I think Hasselback took this out of context ----------------------------------------------------- Talk show critics accused O'Donnell of calling U.S. troops terrorists. She called Hasselbeck "cowardly" for not saying anything in response to the critics.
---------------------------------------------------------
In Conclusion I think Rosey left because she does not want to upset Poor Elisb because she is pregant. But what are you thinking.

I don't even watch it anymore, all is was was Rosie at war with someone/anyone. It was tacky and reminded me of Jerry Springer's show. The View used to be a classy show, maybe they can get some new people on there who can get along and have a great mixture of personality that will be appealing to the audience or else they may have to just hang it up. I'm sorry I am not a big Rosie fan, I used to be. But she has just gotten so mouthy and tacky lately. I wish she'd go back to being her fun loving self, like she was when she had her own show.

TeresaK (8081) | 3 years ago | I was the exact opposite. I never liked Rosie when she had her own show, and almost stopped watching The View when I found out she was replacing Meredith. But then I gave her a chance, and I found out that I was actually enjoying the show MORE with her on it. It was nice to see a woman who would say exactly what she thought, and wasn't afraid of being of a different opinion than everyone else...and then to watch her and Elisabeth go head to head over politics and the war, as well. She will definitely be missed, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the show's ratings tank over the summer. I for one will go back to watching The Price Is Right! LOL

gardengrrl (841) | 3 years ago | Actually, the whole "Queen of Nice" thing from her other morning tv show was an over-exaggeration of her generous, caring side. I would call it an act, except that there really is that big, kind heart inside a woman who has always beena b*tch and proud of it! Her fans from her standup days were quite puzzled by the ultranice persona, one of those, "who are you and what have you done with Rosie?"-type moments the first few times I saw that show. The View just wasn't a good fit for her, the person who sits in that chair has to be able to keep the other "girls" from squabbling too much.
Maybe they should try out a guy or two....!

| | 2. TeresaK (8081) | 3 years ago | Wow! I hadn't heard anything about this until I came across the email notification for this discussion this morning, so then I went looking to see what I could find out, and read this article:
Rosie O'Donnell Won't Be Back on 'The View' Early Exit Comes Days After Bitter Exchange With Co-Host By DAVID BAUDER, AP NEW YORK (May 25) - Rosie O'Donnell has fought her last fight at "The View."
ABC said Friday she asked for, and received, an early exit from her contract at the daytime chatfest following her angry confrontation with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Wednesday. She was due to leave in mid-June.
It ended a colorful eight-month tenure for O'Donnell that lifted the show's ratings but no doubt caused heartburn for show creator Barbara Walters. O'Donnell feuded with Donald Trump and frequently had snippy exchanges with the more conservative Hasselbeck.
O'Donnell said last month she would be leaving because she could not agree to a new contract with ABC executives.
"Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at `The View,"' Walters said. "I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change."
In a statement, O'Donnell said that "it's been an amazing year and I love all three women."
No one was feeling the love on Wednesday, when the argument with Hasselbeck began over O'Donnell's statement last week about the war: "655,000 Iraqi civilians have died. Who are the terrorists?"
Talk show critics accused O'Donnell of calling U.S. troops terrorists. She called Hasselbeck "cowardly" for not saying anything in response to the critics.
"Do not call me a coward, because No. 1, I sit here every single day, open my heart and tell people what I believe," Hasselbeck retorted, and their riveting exchange continued despite failed attempts by their co-hosts to cut to a commercial.
According to a New York Post report, O'Donnell's chief writer, Janette Barber, was allegedly led out of the building on Wednesday after she was caught drawing mustaches on photographs of Hasselbeck in "The View" studios. ABC executives didn't return repeated calls for questions on the incident Friday.
On Thursday O'Donnell had asked for a day off to celebrate her partner's birthday. "The View" aired a taped show on Friday.
On her Web site, O'Donnell posted a scrapbooklike video on Friday with pictures and news clippings of her tenure at "The View." Cyndi Lauper's "Sisters of Babylon" played in the background.
A day earlier, she posted messages on her Web site indicating she might not be back.
"When painting there is a point u must step away from the canvas as the work is done," she wrote. "Any more would take away." ------------------------------- I was one of those people who thought it was a horrible idea to have Rosie on the show to begin with...then after I watched for a few days, I was hooked. She made the show SO much better than it had been before, and I for one will miss her being there. Now I may not watch the show any more at all!!

As far as Rosie, I've never really liked her,
Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the war...and I have to think there are things at high levels and information that we don't know about right now.---keep in mind Harry Truman never new about the bombs as VP, he found out about them after he became president.
Now given the view, I think part of it is her attitude, her liberalistic approach, and well her ongoing bickering fights with others on and off the air that got her an early release from the view.
In my honest not so humble opinion, I think the talk show world is better off without her....

I didn't watch the show and know nothing about what took place (besides what you wrote here)....so I can't comment on this specific show....

| | | | 7. emeraldisle (8978) | 3 years ago | I did not see the episode but I have heard about it from my mother. Personally I think Rosie was wrong. She did make it sound like the troops were the terrorists. When called on it by Elizabeth, Rosie's answer was that she didn't want to get into it because Elizabeth was pregnant. That she didn't want to upset her. It was a cop out. She knew she'd stuck her mouth into it and didn't want to admit to it.
Also not sure where she got her numbers but all the ones I've seen for the number of civilians killed in the war is no where near 655,000 but more like 135,000. Either way though she was out of line and deserved to be called on it.
Finally something to note, Rosie was scheduled to leave already. She was to stay until the end of June. Her recent behavior made it so she had to leave now instead.

| | | | 8. filmbuff (1338) | 3 years ago | First off, for anyone who wants to see the video, you can easily find it by doing a quick search for "rosie the view" on http://www.youtube.com/
Rosie made the view's ratings soar to new levels during the almost year that she was there. She brought a lot to the show because she seems down to earth and isn't afraid to voice her opinions.
Elizabeth H. on the other hand is superficial, two-faced and earned her fame by being on Survivor and marrying a famous football player.
Rosie the Liberal, and Elizabeth the Republican mouthpiece, because hey face it her and her husband are in the upper tax bracket that are benefiting the most from the current administration.
That is not to say that Rosie is poor, not hardly. The difference is that rosie is a huge philanthropist, the amount of money she donates to charity is insane.
Now some perspective. Rosie is leaving the show in 3 weeks, because ABC won't pay her what she is worth based on the ratings she in bringing in for the view. She alreadys has tons of offers to do solo shows, including a possible late night talk show.
Her reasons for leaving are valid ones. Why should she take all the abuse? The media does spin it that "big mean rosie," is picking on "the poor innoncent Elizabeth" who is a goodie, goodie Christian barbie doll.
One last crack at Elizabeth before I wrap this up, and frankely she deserves it. Elizabeth is a two-faced, backstabbing, manipulating, self-serving individual. But of course we knew that, because those are the qualities you need to be on Survivor.

| | | | 9. dragonryder (3573) | 3 years ago | I think it is a shame that Rosey left the show. From what I seen of the argument she never gave Hasselback a chance to answer any of her questions. The press or whatever you want to call them took Rosey's statement out of context and that is a fact. But for Rosey to expect a conservative to back her statements was wrong. I think Rosey wanted out of the show sooner than her contract was up and was using the fight as a way to get out. The show will truly hurt with Rosey gone. ABC knows that. Their ratings have never been any higher than what they are with Rosey. Rosey will land on her feet. And I will be glad to watch her show.

| | | | 10. mtdewgurl74 (10309) | 3 years ago | I have watched the view before rosie and after rosie and I must say their was never a dull moment with rosie on their. Sad to see her go but I bet Donald Trump is having a blast at her expense. I was watching a show the other day and it had Roseanne Bar on it from the show Roseanne and they asked her if she were asked would she take Rosie O'Donnell place on the view and she said yes she would. So maybe we might being seeing another rosie after all. Roseanne Bar isn't one t mince her words either so maybe she be a good replacement for Rosie O'Donnell. That would be a sight to see. Well, maybe Rosie can get on with getting her own show back or something similar..
