Ex-Governor is marked as a B.P.L - “Below Poverty Line” person!!!

That is a bas situation indeed something should be done about it if it's known a mistake has been made. It's not fair on people who need the BPL cards if anyone can get them as easily as it appears to get one.

Well, our system is a little different here in the USA, but the outcome is basically the same. I think it's fascinating that the names of those BPL are actually published in India!! I think if we did that here there'd be a lot fewer fraudulent claims, and more of the cheaters would be caught. There are many here who are able to lie and cheat their way into the public support system. Every once in a while the government talks about re-working the system, but we seldom see any positive results. Still, it must be startling to see Mr. Gahndi's name there! Uncomfortable for him, too!

Really a great surprise Sir! Mr. Gandhi has achieved BPL, though in the similar name. It may be a coincidental fact or error. But in many cases, rich people availing the BPL benefits is really a matter of shame for all. Then where is the service mentality of such persons for the poor people? India is famous in the whole world for its culture and tradition. Such people should be alert of this to make a better service room for the poor and needy people of India. Unless people get rid of poor mentality and selfishness, the various poverty eradication programs launched in different forms by the Government will not be successful in real sense. Thanks.
