Customer Service ---or better yet, lack of...

In this country, Turkey, customer service has not been heard of and shop owners are the number one important person. If you, the customer do not like something that was said or done, feel free to leave my shop is the attitude you'd get here.

When they don't acknowledge you as the customer that is rude and I see it every day. I get annoyed when I make a purchase and the clerk does not say thank you, I do catch an attitude and say "you welcome" and by the tone of my voice they know I'm annoyed and usually say thank you, by then I really don't care anymore and try not to go back to that place.

Here on the island that is almost a phenomenon that doesn’t exist. I wont even comment on the politeness of the customer service representative as that is commonplace,it is a tacit no on does it anymore.

Imagine companies that have signs that read no refund .To me that is the ultimate in the lack of customer service because this is showing me that these companies want to absolve themselves of any blame should in case their product is found to be faulty. They are just thinking that they don’t want to be the ones to make a loss, woe be unto you if you buy at their shops, you do so at your own risk.

In the transportation industry especially in the rural areas, that is totally non existent .The first thing that happens to you is that they want to pack five persons in a row meant for four and you are not supposed to say anything .Next they don’t wear uniforms and they spend forever waiting on the bus to filled to capacity with no regard for your schedule. They are tardy and not dependable,they do not run on any schedule at all. They come when they want to make some money and frequently change their routes if they find there is a more lucrative route even if they know you are relying on them to go home. Another thing is that if there happens to be a storm that results in the normal route being impassable then that means you have to pay increased fare

I recently bough an item from a local retailer and the item mal functioned before the warranty was up and the retailer now has the audacity to tell me that I have to bring back the item to the store to have it fixed granted it wouldn’t be at any extra cost .I am thinking since this is an item that I ma still paying for (I took it out on hire purchase),I shouldn’t have to spend extra money to have the item brought in they should have found a way to get the item form my home .but what do I know
