I empathise with you from the bottom of my heart, and I urge you to go and get help.Dont let the rest of your life be a war zone, get help and end your inner conflict.
Oh,I got it for you

They have a lot of resources there. http://www.ncptsd.va.gov/... not a veteran, but I have PTSD, and I found a lot of useful information and links on the website. I've also done a bit of searching for support groups for people with PTSD, and though there are none in my physical location, there are quite a few such things online, as well as forums and other resources. I'm lurking on a couple of forums I haven't had the nerve to actually post on yet, but it does seem like there are lot of online communities for PTSD.

He had dreams for years of his men in his bedroom asking him to join them, or why did they die and he not. His solution was to drink. Not something I'd recommend for sure. The only way to deal with emotional issues is through therapy. I know from personal experience that it is not always a fun thing to do, but it surely can't hurt. Have you checked with your local veteran's hospital for groups dealing with PTSD? Good luck. I seem to remember you talking about this a little in another discussion.

I definitely have not endured what you have, and I pray that you get peace from the PTSD symptoms! I know that so many of us are so incredibly thankful for your service to our country! I suffered from extreme flashbacks, insomnia, and hypervigilance for over two years while actively seeking help. No matter what type of therapy was provided to me, it didn't help whatsoever. Finally, I was told about a therapy/treatment known as EMDR (EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING)! I am not kidding you in that I experienced relief from the flashbacks after the first session of the therapy! I did have to go through nine other sessions that lasted approximately 1 1/2 hours in length. I don't know if you have ever been made aware of this treatment, or if you have ever experienced it, but it is very successful in treatment of Vietnam Veterans. I wish you well, and here is the link to the site: www.emdr.com
