Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | I've seen some guys like this, jimbo. They blame their moms. An open can of baked beans. That sounds like another great Discussion topic. You should go for it.

2. 4cuteboys (2897) | 3 years ago | Nope, it's never made me have an urge to tinkle, however, whenever I am browsing greeting cards I get the unbearable urge to go pee. I have no idea why and it's every single time. I have to rush too, or I wouldn't even make it. How bizarre is that? The water thing affects the 4cuteboys though. The youngest two still pee in the tub sometimes, yuck

Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | Greeting Cards? That's a new one on me, 4cuteboys. I will admit that the urge often hits me anytime I am shopping with intent to buy something and need to concentrate. Weird, huh? What on earth happens if someone gives you a greeting card? Wait! I don't want to know!
| |
4cuteboys (2897) | 3 years ago | lolol it's only in the store! once i buy the card it's okay. i dont think im used to concentrating that hard. believe it or not, I can be a little flaky..muahhahaha

3. elisa812 (2851) | 3 years ago | I am personally not bothered by it, but I have heard that it does have that effect on some people. I don't think any of my friends are like that though. Even though the sound of the water doesn't really make me have to go to the bathroom, I've noticed that when I go swimming and am around a lot of water all day, it seems like I have to run to the bathroom more often throughout the day. I guess maybe it's just seeing all that water around me and everything.
| |
| |
Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | You actually get out of the water and go to a bathroom, rather than just going in the pool, elisa812?:p
| |
whimsystoryteller (846) | 3 years ago | Transdisc, I haven't peed in the pool since I was a kid. I always get out. I wouldn't want someone to see it for one thing. How embarrassing. Also, even with chlorine, I don't think it's too healthy for the other people in the pool. And, sort of gross. I don't like having to interrupt to go but I think I'd rather.

Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | You have brought so many interesting things to this conversation, Hmmmmm. I often wondered why so many females went to the bathroom in herds. Could this finally be the answer to that great mystery? It takes one female to turn on the water, and another female to do the deed. After one female does her deed, am I correct that the other female then takes up the fawcet responsibilities? Furthermore, what if there is someone else in the bathroom? What is the fawcet etiquette between strangers? Also, what if a female is in the bathroom alone? How can she do her business without someone present to turn on the water? This is an amazing concept, Hmmmmm. I actually knew a guy in college who also didn't like anyone to hear him doing his business. His solution? He would sing loudly. He wasn't a very good singer, either. Anytime we heard him singing, we knew what he was up to.

Hmmmmm (1692) | 3 years ago | Well, I can only speak for myself and my experience with this one friend. When she was done doing her deed, she met me at the faucet, proceeded to wash her hands, turn the water off herself, and we would leave the restroom together. I, however, am completely capable of independent urination. I don't need running water. I don't need help. I don't need company. But based on your series of questions, doesn't it just seem to make sense that there should be some sort of 24-hour, constantly running fountain in all women's restrooms? Seems to me this would alleviate the need for bathroom herding.
| |
Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | Your fountain plan does seem like a good idea, Hmmmmm. For all I know, all women's restrooms already have a fountain. Well, there goes my herding theory. It's remains a mystery.

7. JessyBlue (255) | 3 years ago | The Soothing Sounds of Running Water> I almost though you were gonna talk about rain and storms, I love rain....but I dont like hearing it or any running water, when I have to pee. Because running water makes almost the same sound as pee going into a toilet, just less echo. The sound of a faucet dripping also bothers me, because its just annoying--and when everything else is quiet it seems to get louder and louder.
| |
| |
Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | I also find a dripping faucet annoying, JessyBlue, but it doesn't make me have to go. Does it make you have to go? For a moment, when you were speaking of rain, I thought that you were going to write a nice poem on this subject.
| |
JessyBlue (255) | 3 years ago | Nope doesn't make me wanna pee, makes me want to rip the faucet off and throw it outside. I don't really write much anymore, haven't been able to in a while...the poems I post here and there are just poems from 6-7 mouths ago.

Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | Yes, it is fun, isn't it? It has surprised me how fun it is. Yesterday wasn't fun as a certain feline gave me a scare, but other than that it's loads of fun!

JessyBlue (255) | 3 years ago | It has surprised me too, the fun of my lot! My lip is still a little droopy over the lion..

8. kfrisk (2817) | 3 years ago | LoL The only time that I have a problem with running water is when I already have to go to the bathroom. Then it is a mad rush to get to the toilet! LoL How embarassing! I think it is just a mental thought of water and peeing. Plain and simple, the urge is there!

9. someonesmom (2274) | 3 years ago | When I was a kid, and also in my younger adult years, I'd 'need' the aid of a faucet running to accomplish the task. I had what's known as a 'shy bladder.' I couldn't 'go' if someone else was nearby. Today however, I don't have that problem, in fact, quite the contrary, so yes, sometimes the sound of running water does give me the urge. After this urge comes upon me, I have to move quickly, if you catch my drift. This, I believe, is due to my age. I think I've 'killed 2 birds with one stone' here, although I really don't like this expression.:)
| |
| |
Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | I have heard others say the same thing to explain their running water urges, someonesmom. They say that when they were younger their moms ran the water to help things along, and that they were eventually conditioned to this. Thanks for sharing.:)

10. whimsystoryteller (846) | 3 years ago | It depends on whether I need to go already or not. It doesn't bother me if I don't already need to go but if I do, it can really have an effect. It does tend to help most women if we sit down and can't go right away. I'm not sure why that is but it has worked in the past for me.
| |
| |
Transdisc (18511) | 3 years ago | It seems to work for a lot of people, whimsystoryteller. I suspect that it is a conditioning things, as it doesn't effect everyone.
