It sounds like the job is in the bag for you...good luck. Yes, you will have to miss the camping trip, but in the long run it will be worth it, and you can plan to attend the trip next time.

I've discovered that if you have an interview and are fairly confident that you did well, you probably did. I had interviews with two companies recently. The first was a phone interview, and I didn't think it went as well as it could have. The second was an in-person interview, which I thought I nailed, and that's where I work now. :)

Do you have the Job yet? I hope you get it. working at the University, you think you will like the Adults better than the children?

Congrats on your 2nd interview and good luck, I pray that you get the job, but it is okay when you start a job to request to start after a predetermined vacation, if the vacation was planned before the prior to you interviewing and excepting the position the employer should understand. They did it all the time with new hires at my job and some employers usually ask you beforehand because they know it is the season when people take vacations. So do what your family says but wait until they tell you, you have the position then work out the vacation.

Congrats, maybe you could do a small weekend camping trip, even if it is just to a KOA campground. It is nice to get away even only for a few days. Best wishes!

Well that is great to hear about this job you may be getting. What will you be doing there? It would be nice if you could tell Them when you want to start but you're right it just doesn't happen that way. Good luck!
