I changed my bank card number. I guess I need to change my bank account number to stop this. Anyway I am supposed to have this stopped now... but they won't give me my money back. I am going to have to dispute the charge with my bank.

ya... happen all this should stop the acc number..
anyway you can complaint to the in charge person about this...
we cant just blind our eyes for this..
must take it seriusly

I got my money back from my bank. My bank emailed me and told me to change accounts. Cancel the account i have and to start a new one. A new card, new checks and new account.

It wasn't like that. I paid the month of March for the people. A one time thing. People PC then kept billing my card number. I disputed the other charges... got 2 of them rejected...and now today is another bill that slid in. They keep billing my account. I have a new card number.. They shouldn't even have access to my account because I have a new debit card.

Nobody forged anything... it is this electronic stuff that People PC keeps doing even after I keep telling them that they are billing the wrong person.

How do I contact the Attorney General? Is there an address? I've emailed my bank through my online banking... and I will call the 1800 number at my bank tomorrow.. and if I get nowhere I will call my branch on Monday. I have gotten charges refunded before when I got scammed.

Each state has one. I have a book with them all listed. I will see if I can find it really quick.

What state are you in. They have a toll free number for each state.

I thought each state had a toll free number too but that site does not show it for all states. However, if you do have to call them, ask if they have a toll free number and use it the next time. Good luck to you.

This is a government site and offers many free publications. They put out a new book each year and it is great. I cant find it for you right now as my eyes are starting to blur. Bad night for me. Anyway you should be able to scroll down the page to find information on how to complain and such. It is government nad it is free.

Yayyyy I talked with the bank today at the 800 number. I talked to a dispute specialist. They are giving me back my money in 24 to 48 hours. They are declining the payment to people pc... plus they are informing them they do not have permission to debit my account.

The funny thing is.. I had the owner of the account on the phone at the time I was talking to my bank, so she helped me with some of the info talking to my bank. My friend discontinued People PC service last month and the company is still debiting my account just like it is an active account.

Anyway it will be resolved in 48 hours tops. I thank you guyz at mylot for allowing me to vent about this last night. It really had me thrown for a loop... but it is ok now. My money will be added back.

the next thing you need to look out for is if this is going to affect your credit rating.

or if these people are going to send a bailiff to your house. or if they are going to put the account in collections,

yes you have stopped the payment but it doesn't mean they will stop wanting payment.

be careful with this, you don't want it to mess up your credit rating.

Well I got a confirmation number saying they are canceling their account... but the funny thing is the account is already canceled by the friends. The company keeps billing me for an account that doesn't even exist. They assured me it would stop, but I don't trust them. I am changing my bank account number tomorrow or Wednesday, just as soon as I can.

Is your bank going to get your money back?

Yep, I already got the money back into my account. I have filled out the affidavit, and it will be sent to them tomorrow... but the money has already been put back into my account.. Somehow my old card was still linked to my new card... it was like a replacement card for the old card... so the bank did not catch that they are not supposed to let that purchase through... Anyway the bank is issuing a brand new card not linked at all with the former card. No one will be able to do this to me again.

My bank explained to me that when I allowed that one payment, the People PC sent a form that is like a{permission slip) to my account. Even when I changed my card number the old slip was still attached to my account. Whoever directed me last time did not do the right thing. So now I have to cancel my bank account and start a new one to be protected.

This is just so crazy. How can they do that.

I know we are supposed to send in our new card number if we decide to change. I have not tried to just let them do the change themselves. But it's "scary" if it is not a legitimate expense like your case's.

It is straightened out now. I got my money back. I am getting a brand new card not linked with the other card. This will not be treated as a replacement card. This will be a new card like for a new account.

Ok, I hope this is finally the "end". What an ordeal for you!:(
