that depends on what kind of computer and connection you have, if your using dial up that will never go faster than what it is, you also need to run anti-virus and spyware and its good to have a firewall on your comp. so you are well protected.

There's a few things you can try. First, when your browser window is open, click on Tools, then Internet Options. There you'll find a button that will say Delete. Click that. You may get another box that says Delete All - if so, click that. Regardless, this will delete your history and temporary files, which can slow your puter down.
Another thing you can try - I just learned this - is click on Start at the bottom left of your computer screen. Then click on Run. When a box opens, in the space type%temp% and click OK. A window will open and it will probably have tons of files in it. Deleting those will help your computer speed up. Some files might not delete, and that's okay; that just means your computer is using them right now for whatever reason. You can try deleting them later.

Maybe you should try to add one more memory or simply upgrade the memory of your computer. It will not just make your computer faster but it would allow you to open more applications when youre using it. make it a point also to delete cookies and temporary internet files. Referesh your computer from time to time. Defragment also your drive C of D.

Remover the new ram stick check to make sure that the first ram stick is in the slot securely. then reboot the pc..most ram is plug n play so it should not slow the pc down do a good maintenance session on the pc defrag and reg cleaner before trying to reinstall.You should check the owners manual for your motherboard. I'm thinking that the two types of memory you have installed are not fully compatible. While your system might recognize the total amount of RAM available, because the type don't match properly, they are fighting for CPU time resulting in reduced processor speed and lockups.

yes go for ram (check your MOBO manual) and also go for Hard disk with higer RPM decreases drive access time and give u faster performance. Do registry cleaning using software each 3 week maybe depending on your compputer usage. If u perform windows update your computer might be slow, so concentrate on more Ram may be up to 1GB is enough. Go for RaM DDr2 or DDR3 if u want a killing machine(PLZ check your mobo it it support, well dnt think so).

Try to disk clean-up then disk defragment. If your system is still slow try to add some memory, close some programs that you don't usually used.
