Do you have snakes in your area? If so snakes can sometimes be famous for eating kittens, wouldn't be all that hard to swallow a kitten for a medium sized or larger snake. Sometimes male cats will kill kittens if they happen to stray from the momma cat or they are wishing to put momma cat back into heat.

Haven't heard of raccoon and possums eating live kittens, but than again I have heard of stranger things happening. Depending on the size and age of the kitten owls could be a likely candidate. Also wolves, foxes, or coyotes. Not sure of all the wildlife in your area.

Before naming a kitten I usually try to see what his/her personality is like. Usually takes a couple days for me to name a kitten, sometimes less. Like for instance my newest little one, when he was first born, if anything human get near him he would try to hiss and spit. So he got the name SpitFire. Also can name him/her according to his/her fur color. Though Obsidian seems to me my favorite cat name thus far.

Awe, honey that is awful about the kittens being eaten and trace of them. I have no idea what could have gotten to them.

At least you got one left. I think since you said he has sky blue eyes, I would name him Sky. What a beautiful name.

Hello bwrattybaby, before I responded this discussion of yours...I went straight first to view your baby kitten's image, wow i'm so amazed of his cuteness, truly his an angel in your home with your honey. I even suggested a name there for your kitten but still you both with your hubby decide what's best for him giving him good name that comes with his cutie appearance itself. :-)

Oh that is so sad. All those critters you mentioned will and can kill small helpless animals.

Owls would take them and not leave evidence. Raccoons and possums would leave them alone. Maybe the little kitties wondered off into the woods and something got them.

The one you kept is soooo cute!! I was thinking of a few names like: Tiger, King, Lucky {since hes the only one left}, Little man, Snickers, George {LOL}, Smokey, Mars, or Saber. Let us know what you decide!!!

Awwww thats sad the kittens got eaten. Im sure once he is a little bigger he will be able to fend for him self. My outside cat had kittens too recently and there is only one thats all I saw. But she wont let me touch her or her baby. I cant even get close to her. I would could your kitten SKY. For his or her blue eyes.

I don't know much about wild animals and which one would eat small kittens. But I think the name Lucky might be appropriate for the remaining one.

I am sorry to hear about your kittens. The next time maybe you should try a ground cage if you want them to go out for air. That is what I put my chicks and bunnies in to keep them safe. Any bird of prey will take a kitten. I have seen them take small dogs. A few years ago I was in Tofino when a lady started screaming we looked up and saw an Eagle flying off with her tiny poodle. I have had Hawks take full sized chickens about 6-8 LBS. Raccoons are bad that way too, I have had so many farm cats go missing after hearing them fight with raccoons.
