Grumpy old man?  | |  It seems to me that everywhere you go these days there is always some kid (it's always a young person) with a personal stereo/mp3 player/phone who is polluting the environment with noise. It irritates to heck out of me! How about you? Does this sort of noise pollution annoy you? or am I just being an intolerant and grumpy old man?

Then someone with an mp3 player sits next to me. Don't they realise that the person sitting next to them (and usually a five metre radius) can actually hear the duf duf as well? I sometimes feel like gently nudging them and asking, "Is my reading disturbing you?"...but I never do. They probably wouldn't understand what I meant anyhow.

The person using the earphones either does not know, or more likely does not care just how much noise is actually leaking from his/her toy. | |
