What's the cost of gas per gallon / litre in your neck of the woods?  

I pay about 8 dollars for one gallon of gas. Your gasolin price is dirt cheap. I do not understand how the people in the States can complain about the gas price. I take my bike or walk to where ever I can. I combine trips. I drive a Seat Ibiza made by VW which is basically a sportish Golf. It is very moderate in gas consumption.

I used to travel around town much more, and out of town too. Now I usually just go to work and back home, with maybe one side stop to a grocery store. I have considered just bicycling to work, since my workplace has a bike trail leading right up to it, and it's only about 5 miles away. Still, even driving 5 miles doesn't burn up that much gas, so I don't care too much- plus, I'd have to drag out the car eventually to get groceries, and my car allows me to just get them on my way home.

I don't travel around anymore, like to Rockford, or the Dells, as both places are 80 and 60 miles away, respectively. However, within just my current hometown, gas prices have not affected me that much, simply because Madison is a small town. I fill up my tank once every 2 weeks.

In New England gas prices are just under $3 a gallon now after having been over most of last month. That is just for regular thought premium and super are still over the $3 mark. Since I use my work vehicle all the time, I bring it home with me, prices have nott been an impact on me. If I ever get my car fixed and road worthy again it will be minimal driving for me till gas is more affordable.

Gas here is $1.23/liter. I think that works out to about $3.25 or so per gallon. I just bought a Honda Civic and got 500 kilometers out of the first tank, about 311 miles. Not bad for the first tank :) The other car gets about 500 - 550 kilometers on a tank. Both cars commute daily unfortunately as the hubby and I work opposite hours. The prices have changed how much driving we do in the evening and on the weekends. There are no more Sunday drives I can tell ya :)

When we go anywhere we take the little car, that has not nearly as much room or padding, but can get up to 40 mpg. I am changing the location of my work, that is, I have requested a transfer, and will leave my position if it does not pan out. It is not a year round job, though. If I get the transfer, I can walk or bicycle to work. We no longer go out for pointless drives, or to run a little errand out of town, we save them up. That is the basic in our changes.

I drive a diesel VW TDI, and the cost of diesel here is 3.2999 per gallon. The diesel Golf gets between 45-49mpg, and the diesel engine gives it alot more torque, so more power, while using less fuel. Of course, the new low-sulfur blend diesel fuel may have an effect on the overall mileage. I haven't determined that yet. Incidentally, this is my 4th VW, my first diesel, and most certainly not my last. I will probably continue to buy this particular car for as long as they make it. Can you tell I love my VW?

How has my life changed since the cost of fuel skyrocketed? Well, I drive a little slower, and better coordinate my chores and errands. I've always been a stickler for regular vehicle maintenance, but even more so now. Previously, I would occassionally drive into town on the weekends. Not anymore, not unless it's for a very special event.

Also, I send more emails to our Congressional leaders demanding that they reduce their tax percentage on each gallon of gasoline. Not surprisingly, I never get a reply on this topic.

If you belong to BJs, or a wholesale club, sometimes you can get a better price on gas.

Its around 3.00 a gallon around here, give or take...but BJs last week was 2.92.

As far as conserving gas, short trips, nothing major, try to pack lunches, and the like and my husband does some telecommuting to work from home.

It's $3.05 across the street from us, outside of Pittsburgh, PA. In the next town over it is $2.99 and $2.97 at Costco (where we go). My husband has a big honkin' F-150 and it costs over $70 to fill it up now. He is actually living in Chicago right now and the price over there is about $3.40 or so and it is costing way more to gas up his truck. It costs me about $40 to fill up my minivan but I rarely go anywhere so it has been awhile.

It is down to a dollar twenty a litre right now . I say down because it keeps going up a lot more and then down and then back up again . I am not sure what that works out to a gallon .
There is not much we can do to save on the gas other then to try and not go visiting as often as we used to and to try and get all of our groceries at one time rather then a few times in the run of a month and trying to split the cost of gas with someone else by traveling with the one time and the next , them traveling with us . It is supposed to hit a dollar forty five a litre befor the end of the summer . That is really going to hurt a lot of people and I don't know how we are going to afford the gas . It won't be worth working at that price as it will cost more to get to work then it will pay us to work as both my children are working half an hour away and I have to make at least two trips back and fourth a day to get them there because they work different hours .

well,i suppose that gasoline costs are really cheap in your towns...i'm in italy and gas costs now 1,38-1,404 eur per liter,and diesel(fortunately i own a ford focos tdci)costs 1,180-1,210 eur per liter.fortunately i live in a town near to the border with slovenia,so we have a little discount aimed to avoid people waving to slovenia so i have 0,15 eur discount for a liter of diesel and maybe 0,22 eur per liter of gas...i really wonder how can you people from the states apologize about gasoline costs!!
