Don't people know to use rearview mirrors? |
| |
| While sitting at the computer this morning I heard the sound of one vehicle hitting another one. Well, much to my dismay, when I looked out of the window, I saw a large SUV with one of those big trailer hitches that had backed into my son's car, taking out his left front headlight assembly, and damaging the front quarter panel and bumper. The lady driving had not checked behind her with her mirrors and backed right into our son's car. I of course ran outside, and got her info. (She was visiting our across the street neighbor) His car has been hit three times by people backing into it. Don't people know to use their rearview mirrors when they back out of any area? Anybody else had this happen to you? | | | | | |

| | Yes I've had that happen with my new car, only had 5000 miles on it and my neighbors backed right into it. My neighbors never seem to check to see where our cars are parked. I think I'm going to start parking on their side of the street. I'm just glad it wasn't a child out there. I guess it could always be worse. | | | | | | |

| | Sounds like changing your parking pattern is a good idea. Also, you are right, it could have been worse. | | | |

| | Perhaps you could position said vehicle strategically in back of a large truck, vacate same and then watch the mayhem develope? | | | |

| | I thought of letting it fall over a local quarry ledge, but knowing me,I would still be aboard when I let the handbrake off. Thank you most much for the pencil prize,a first for me,lol | | | |

| | I have a 10 year old car to So it may come as no surprise, that I agree with Disco Diva I think part of the driving test should be based on having to look in the rear view mirror and describing whats in view Maybe thats silly, but it strings this response out,and will ensure proper payment for said reply | | | | | | |

| | Your insight into the logical requirements of a driving exam are noted with agreement. DD has the correct outlook as well. And thank you for the extension of this discussion which has been idle for a tad bit longer than I ever suspected. | | | |
