Taking a Vacation

Not really sure if you would count it as a holiday, but I've spent up to 3 months at a time in other countries doing volunteer work. I would go to my home country, work and save for 9 months and then go somewhere new for 3 months to volunteer. I have spent about 10 weeks each in Thailand, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and Amsterdam as well as several short trips to other countries.

I hope that you have fantastic holiday. Five days will give you a lovely amount of time to be away. I am very keen on travelling. When I was younger I had some quite long trips. The longest of these was when I was 20 I went around the world working in Australia to pay for this trip. It lasted for one year. I travelled quite slowly, spending 2 weeks in California, a week in Hawaii, two weeks in Fifi, a month Singapore/Sumatra/Malaysia and the rest of the time in Australia. My next longest trip was when I was 29 when I went to New Zealand. This trip lasted for four months. I spent 2 weeks in California, a week in French Polynesia, two weeks in the Cook Islands, two weeks in Samoa and the rest of the time in New Zealand. These days I spend two or three weeks away on holiday due to having children and dogs to think of.

I don't really remember the longest holiday I've had. Probably 2 weeks. But, I think a week is fine. I'm usually ready to come home after being gone for a week.
