Ken Hatton has been a musician all of his life. He made a bold decision back in 1992. Ken chose to walk away from music. He felt like his music was going in a direction where he was not wanting to go.
He made another bold decision a little over a year ago, to come back to music and start a new band. That band is the Electric Rodeo Band. Ken approached several musicians from other groups to offer them a place in his new band. He chose these musicians because of their experience, ability, and professionalism.
The Band
Ken Hatton - the front man for the Electric Rodeo Band. He has a lifetime of experience including performing under the same billing as Dean Dillion and Michael Twitty. He has also shared the stage with Asleep at the Wheel!Andy McCullough - With 33 years of experience he is a logical choice as the co-founder for the Electric Rodeo band. Andy was a music major and received his degree in 1980. In the band he shows off his guitar and vocal skills. He can also play saxophone and bass guitar. A few of his accomplishments in music include playing with Wayne Swinney of Saliva, Greg Edmunson of Breaking Point, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Micheal Twitty. Plus he has opened for Grand Funk, Aaron Tipton, 38 Special, and Charlie Daniels.
Tom Leishman - with 30 years experience Tom is a wonderful addition to the band playing bass guitar and helping out with the vocals. Some of his musical accomplishments include playing with local county bands Liz Beard, Due South, Renegade. During his time with local bands he has opened for Steve Agar and had the opportunity to perform with Ace Cannon, Jerry Lee Lewis and Full Southern Action. He also plays the guitar, bass banjo, and the harmonica.
Tommy Vulturo - This drummer has 35 years of drumming experience including Memphis band No Limit. In addition to his Memphis band experience Tommy also spent some time in the Philadelphia music scene. In Philadelphia, Tommy had the pleasure of playing with Triple Exposure and Road. He has also had the amazing experience of opening for Huey Lewis and the News, Robert Palmer, and Hall & Oates.
Michael Howell - Michael adds his expertise on keyboards, guitar and vocals to the Electric Rodeo Band. In Michael's 25 years of experience in the music business he has had many accomplishments. These accomplishments include performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City, opening for Steven Curtis Chapman and Jerry Lee Lewis. He also plays the banjo, drums, bass, trumpet, trombone, and saxophone.
Ken Hatton and the Electric Rodeo Band have their first CD ready for release on July 21st. The release party is also ken's birthday party! What a birthday present! Ken and the band decided first thing that they wanted to stay away from the polished Nashville sound and build their band from the bottom up.
Their first CD First Jump Out of the Shoot is full of their own original music and was made on their own without a label. Ken is in the process of starting up his very own production company called Round Up Productions. The band is already working on their next CD hoping to release it some time next year.
The Electric Rodeo Band is a rock and roll country band that is sure to please any ears! Watch for the CD that will be available for purchase in late July. Their first single is titled Good Time Bar and Grill this song is a tribute to where all of the band members got their start in local bars and grills! What a great way to start this new era in their musical careers!Check out the band's profile on MySpace for more information on their upcoming performances and events!
