Sometimes in life we have an - "If only....." What is yours?

I have alot of "only-if's". The best only-if I can think of is that is if only I could be the person who was really appreciated and respected for who i am and what I do for others. If only people would see that, then I wouldn't have so many problems in my life. I try very hard to make peace and keep peace but I get burned out on it very fast from being used and abused by others so many times.

The main if-only for me was from back in the early 1970's. Of course, it was a girl that I wish I had gotten with when I had the chance. I was trying to survive a recent breakup at the time and really did not give her a chance. I feel bad when I think about it. I kind of think we could have been good together. Every relationship since then has ended in disaster. Then again, it is in the past and I have to let it go. I will never know if things might have been good for us. But I hope that wherever she is, she is doing well.
