No, I think Final Fantasy 10 has much better graphics that Final Fantasy 7. Cloud is a very good character, but I think Sephiroth is cooler. In other games, I think Auron and Yuna are cool.

Final Fantasy 7 definitly doesn't have better graphics than the newer ones, but it has a great storyline and many people still hail it as the greatest console game ever created. Personally, I prefer FF8 and FF9, but I still play them all from time to time.

The graphics by current standards is not that great but for when it was released they were really good. Even with the graphics being subpar for newer games, I think the storyline, music and over play make up for the age, after all it is nearing or passed the 10th anniversary of its release depending on where you are.

Of course the newer versions have better graphics than the older versions because of newer and better technology. But I think that the Final Fantasy VII graphics were good at the time it was released. It was considered as the first to use 3D computer graphics featuring rendered characters on pre-rendered backgrounds

Now for my opinion, I believe Cloud Strife is probably the coolest FF male and main character.

I think final fantasy 7 set the playing field for other final fantasy games and it was the most advanced at it time for that genre of rpg game.
Many people do hail it as the best game ever made because it is so damn good, the game play, the story, the battle system and the graphics at the time were some of the best.
Final fantasy 7 in it's own right will always remain a classic game and is in the ranks of panzar dragoon saga etc etc, if you check out the values for panzar and final fantasy they are pretty decent prices so in my book that makes them good collectables and collectors items for the retro gamers out there, i did have a final fantasy 7 platinum a while back but lent it to our friends son and we have since fallen out so i thought i wouldn't bother asking for it back.

It really is a game to cherish though not because it is better than other final fantasys but because it's a classic in it's own right and deserves to be in any final fantasy players collection.
