Why I hate Micro$oft and Vista WindoZe  

This is one of the main reasons i will NEVER use vista, program and hardware compatibility. You are right, i do believe the big companies are forcing you to buy new and expensive hardware just so they increase their profits. Im not entirely sure but maybe setting up a dual boot configuration would get around this problem.

This problem occurs to many in the world, whenever a new Version of Windows is Released. And usually the solution is to, wait for the Service Packs to get released, where many of such compatibility issues and other minor security issues will be fixed.

I suggest you to wait for few more months and see whether your problem gets fixed.

I've heard so many complaints about the Vista Windows--and Microsoft quickly dissolved the former software..Media??...that disappeared real fast ...hehe..all the more reason I'm glad I have my Mac computer..

I bought a Canon scanner when I was running windoze 98 and a couple of years later switched to xp. The scanner isn't supported by xp. What a rip off. It seems to me that it's all designed just to take our money. Computers would be way ahead of what we have access to but they dish it out in dribs and drabs so we have to keep paying. It's greedy AND unethical.

Well all I have heard so far is bad News about this Vist so I hope my Computer will last me as I do not fancy that Vista at all and of course it will be set so you have to buy new on everything

I agree with you.
I would have loved to get the new vista program but decided to wait for the next addition and give them time to work out some of the bugs.
Our computer is from 2004 and we can't buy any programs anymore that are compatable.
So we are holding out for the next version of vista to buy our new computer. Susan

OMG. I just had the worst experience with MicroSoft, Vista and AOL.

My cousing Christine, who is a computer novice, wanted to get a computer and get online.

I took her to Circuit City and we bought a 1 Gig E-Machine.

I went to her house and connected everything. We downloaded AOL from the Icon that was on the desktop.

I did everything in my power to get it to work. I called AOL tech support 12 times. On the 13th time, they finally told me that Vista, AOl and McCafee Security weren't compatable.

They gave me the number for McCaffe because it needs to be uninstalled completely, including all registries.

I called McCaffe and they wanted my credit call in order to charge me to have the pre-installed Virus Protection removed.

I called AOL and told them that if they wouldn't remove it so that I could access the internet, then I would cancel my AOL account.

They said there was nothing they could do, so I cancelled the account.

Why does Microsoft even download the damn thing if it's not compatible with a major internet provider such as AOL?

I wasted 6 hours and have nothing to show for my time.

I think Microsoft, Vista and AOL are all incompetant.

I urge everyone to do research before they by a new computer with Vista.

It's a pain in the butt.

I hear you. Really sucks....We got the same compatibility issues and it is an issue with some of the softwares and applications I have installed. We're just fattening Bill Gates' bank accounts....

I have Windows XP and I do not have much trouble with it. Windows Vista is too young and the bugs have not been taken out of it. I would rather have a Mac and that is what I am saving for it. It is also the reason why I am aiming to answer more than forty posts and to send ten posts a day,so I can make a little more money for this endeavor.
