Rick Ross Killin Hip Hop!

I don't think that the things you mentioned, guns, sex, drugs, etc. are necessarily "killing" or putting a blindfold over hip hop. In my mind, hip hop is what you make it, whether you're rapping about life in suburbia, or the streets. Although many people disagree with what rappers and hip hop artists say in their songs, most of it is a reflection of their life or personal experiences and hip hop is a form of expressin that, whether or not others agree with it. I don't believe that any message should be taken from these songs, specially if a rapper raps about drugs.. it shouldn't make somebody go do them, moreso people who enjoy hip hop should listen to the creative art form and just vibe to it. And in my opinion if someone doesn't like hip hop, or the things that these artists say, then don't listen to the songs.
