I am very upset with my neighbor |
| |
| Our neighbor and his wife are in their early 70's and have a dog. They have had this dog since it was a puppy. Well this dog is old now and has an open sore on its body. Obviously its infected and they will not take this dog to the vet or get it any treatment. To me this is Cruel. Is there anything I can do? Should I get involved? I feel so bad for this dog. The woman lost her sense of smell, and when my husband goes into their house it stinks real bad because of the sore and this dog pooping on the carpet. Its just aweful my husband said. Please give me some advice on what you would do if anything. | | | | | |

| | I would call the athorities, That should not be going on. If someone does that to a helpless pet, it is not right. | | | | | | |

| | This man is a former cop can you believe that? So calling the cops does no good. He talks his way out of everything you know how good of friends cops are. Also my husband is scard of what he will do. He drinks and has been known to start huge fights with guns and everything. | | | |

| | Yeah, I've had disputes with former cops. They are in like some kind of brotherhood or something. The other idea would be to take picures of the dog. submitt them anonymously to the local state police k-9 unit. They usually work with the ASPCA. | | | |

| | Call you local SPCA. They will check in on the dog and take it if they are neglecting it. Around here the SPCA works on a foster parent system so you may even be able to offer to foster the dog if that would make you feel better, the you would know for sure he/she was in a good home. | | | | | | |

| | Do your neighbors have kids that you can contact regarding this? If not, maybe you should call the dept of the aging and see if they can step in and help. It is a very sad situation. | | | | | | |

| | I agree with sonshine. If the couple have adult children who would be willing to intervine it might be better for everyone. I wonder if the couple don't realize how serious the situation really is. Normally people don't want their beloved pets to suffer. Have you thought about offering to take the dog to the vet for them? | | | | | | |

| | Yes they do have adult children and they know about it. In fact yesterday was fathers day and none of them came to visit because of the stentch in the house and the dog im sure. This guy is set in his ways and would never let us interfier with anything he does. | | | |
