What did they say? |
|
You ever watch cartoons? I like watching cartoons, Ilike the older ones like Felix the Cat, black and white Loonie Tunes. I liked watching Charlie Brown cartoons, but one thing I have always wondered. What the heck are the adults saying? All you hear is wa wa wa wa wa wa wa. What is that? I never could figure out what they are saying, if you know or have any ideas to this, please tell let me know.

1. sappho99336 (247) | 3 years ago | I've never been much of a cartoon watcher, but I have always loved the Flintstones. I used to watch it all the time as a kid. I just bought the complete first season on DVD.
By the way, you're not supposed to understand what the adults in the Peanuts cartoons are saying. The adults are barely on the periphery in the world of the Peanuts gang. It's all about the kids. You may have noticed that you never actually see an adult either in the comic strip or in the TV shows.

3. Penguinsangel (2786) | 3 years ago | My guess is why the parents did that in Peanuts/Charlie Brown is because the kids never really listened to what the parents were saying...so wa wa wa wa is what we heard too. lol That's just my guess though.
I love cartoons, but like you I like the older ones. Flintstones & The Jetsons are two of my top favorite cartoons of all time.

4. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 3 years ago | I don't know why they do that but I never cold understand it and it always annoyed me... You could usually guess if it was the teacher by the response of Peppermint Patty....
I guess you just have to use your imagination and make something up when your kid asks you what they were saying...
Mooch.

5. diecaster (391) | 3 years ago | I always thought that the WaWaWa was not worth listening too, based upon the gang's appearent lack of concern as to what was being said. (Did I really analyze the cartoon then or just think of it now?)
Anyway, I loved, and still do love the old Popeye cartoons. Have to be the old ones, though, you know, with Bluto (not Brutus, who was in the later versions). Hard to beat Popeye muttering under his breath, and then turning into a B-17 after eating his spinach.

totty1969 (764) | 3 years ago | I remember watching popeye on Saturday morning, the host of the popeye show was Tom Hayden, he would draw popeye cartoons. I like the older ones best too. What ever happened to Bluto? My favorite character is Whimpy.

7. margieanneart (16820) | 3 years ago | I haven't watched any cartoons in longer than I can remember. I don't even read comic books. I would love to read the Archie series, but they are too expensive. Cartoons now are full of violence. I loved the older ones, like Felix and loonie tunes too.
