My husband is turning 26 next week. He made a comment about wanting a surprise party. So I told him to invite friends over for a party, then walk in and act surprised. He actually invited people over for a surprise party! I think he is too old for a party. We are going to have a BBQ and then I guess the guys will hang out. Maybe its just an excuse to have friends over, which I don't mind.
But just to be funny, I was thinking of getting balloons and streamers to decorate the house. I went to the dollar store, and they have all sorts of party favors. They have glow necklaces and little pinatas. When do you think it's too old for a party?

About 121 is too old....

Let him feel young and have fun! Be glad he's not moping about being just over a quarter century like my sis was at that age.

You are never too old for a party just like you are never too old to play in the rain or visit the circus. Birthday parties for husbands are sweet, especially if its a surprise. No matter how high our age gets, there is still that child in all of us. Although there are some people i know who do not like surprises but parties thrown for them, i think a lot of people pretty much appreciate that no matter what the age bracket is.:)

Haha - great idea. And you can arrange party games as well, you know, Pass the Parcel and Musical Chairs. And you've GOT to have a cake with candles.

Yeah, go on and give him the whole works.

He's like me, any excuse for a party! Have fun!

Oh that's cute! I don't think you can get too old for a birthday party, if you want one. I have never liked to be the center of attention so I stopped wanting one many years ago. But I think it is definitely a good excuse to get together with your friends.

First off I do not think you are ever too old to have a birthday party. My mom's birthday is the 28th of December so she never really had a birthday party it was just sort of thrown in with Christmas. When I turned 18 I decided it was time my mom had a special day just for her. I think she was thirty six or thirty seven I can't remember but my husband made her a lovely teired cake. A friend of mine opened her bar up to the family for a private party. My mom loved it. I am forty two and have a birthday party almost every year. I think you should always celebrate life and I love a good reason to have a party.

I think that you are never too old for a birthday party. You are celebrating the life of your husband! You should want to party with him and celebrate with his friends and family. I am 43 and still have a birthday party every year. My mother is 76 and we have a birthday party for her every year. Think of it this way....you should be happy that you can celebrate his life and not be mourning his death.

I don't think you are ever too old for a birthday party:) Most people when they get older only celebrate the milestone birthdays like 21, 30, 40 etc. But I don't see anything wrong with having a birthday party at any age. Its a good reason to get together with friends and have fun:)

Your never too old for a birthday party! LOL! I would love to walk in somewhere are get a big old surprise, but I wouldn't want to know in advance.

Last year, we had a party for my birthday, but the only people who we could invite were my guy's work friends and thier wives as we'd just moved here a few monthes eariler. It was ok, but would have been much better with friends. We grilled and the men sat on my porch playing poker while the girls sat inside and watched Big Brother. I'm sure the girl thought it was the most boring party ever, but we were all either pregnant or nursing, not much fun could be had, we didn't even know each other! LOL
