The Hobbit movie

I think that it is possible to make a good movie, even without Peter Jackson. You can see the result in the Harry Potter movies. They did not used only one person to make the movie. My opinion is that it's better with Peter but it can be done without him.
You are also saying that there are the same actors, but a lot of the actors who played in the lord of the rings won't be needed in the Hobit because there character does not play a role in that movie.

ya, i would very much like to see a movie on the hobbit.
because i think that there are mant persons who haven't read any of the books and i think that 'the hobbit' is the inseperable part of lord of the rings and the knowledge on how bilbo gets the ring is an very important.

I would definitely like to see a movie made of the Hobbit. Is there any reason why Peter Jackson can't do it? I do think he would be best but if not someone else could do it if they are of a similar caliber. Although Tolkien's other books may not seem suitable for movies I would still like to see them as well though, perhaps more along the lines of a fictional documentary type of movie. I think having a full understanding of Tolkien's whole history in movie form would be excellent.

YES! The Hobbit must be made a movie.. and Peter Jackson is the best person to do it! After all he has the experience already. Other producers or directors might mutate the story line though. Take a look at X-Men III. How the producer killed off a number of the main character. Although the movie was quite watchable, but, that was just not how it should have been produced.

The same could be said on The Hobbit. If a wrong producer/director were to end up making this movie, all hell will break lose. It would be a great disappointment to us fans.. I do hope it will never come to that, though.

Compared to the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit is a piece of cake. As long as Smaug is CGI'd right, I'm happy:).

And Laketown must be epic, live up to the LOTR trilogies...

Peter Jackson said that after the Lord of the Rings he wouldn't direct The Hobbit, but I wish that he would. Gandalf has to be the same, and what's more he said that he would like to replay the role. I hope that they will make a live movie, but for now I'll just watch the animated Hobbit movie and dream about a live action movie.

Yeah, I am excited for the Hobbit being made into a movie. Again, lol (the animated version was very cute, but I know that in this day and age we can do better). I think that there is potential for it to be rather good. It's a relatively short and straightforward book (compared to LotR), so not much could be cut from the plot. I don't think that it will be nearly as good as LotR though. Not without Peter Jackson.

From what I heard it all occurred over a financial arguement between New Line Cinema and the Weta Workshop. New Line refused to give Weta all the money that they were asking for after they finished making LotR, so Peter Jackson refused to sign a contract with New Line over the production of The Hobbit.
