Do you rush the red light when you cross the road?

Theres never a time where I will go through a red light. A lot of my friends and some family who have gotten into bad car accidents and it kind of made me aware that I could actually get hurt. I take my time when I am driving, and am very cautious. Also, I can't afford a ticket! Thats the last thing I need in my stack of bills.

Here people also don't follow the traffic light. However, sometimes I can't blame it. As no matter it's green or red light, sometimes you just can't across the street. So when you have a chance, then just go ahead. If I can have no problem to pass the street when it's green light, I won't dare to do it. But the fact is you can't depend on the traffic light.

I am sorry to say that sometimes I do if there is no bus running back and forth. I mean, in a street that is not busy at all in my town, Anji, but not in a big city. I never do that in a city for I know it is more dangerous to behave like that. You are right to say that they are probably people without very good quality. I am just that kind of people sometimes, but not always. I will try to be a better citizen. Meanwhile, I am happy for you to be aware of and keep traffic regulations. You are a good example I have to learn from.

If you mean driving through a red light, then no. I always stop on the yellow light that is before the red light. And I will wait for green to go. I'm sure that there are people who will do this, but that just might be how accidents do happen. There are always accidents, and I often wonder what caused them... what you said makes sense to me, that could be a reason for them. This is a good discussion Tracy. Now if you were talking about pedestrians, I would not know because where I live there are not a lot of people walking the streets. I never feel safe going against a light and I would not do it. If I have to walk across the street I wait until the little white walk sign comes on.:~D

I can relate to that:) even in our country, people do beat the red light when crossing. Not only people but vehicles too. Whats worse, even traffic enforcers do that... the government here is not that strict to implement rules and regulations properly. I think we all need discipline to cross at the right time and at the right place. You are absolutely correct, it causes accidents. And its for our safety.

I have seen many peoples especially my own friends when they are in bikes just rush even if the red light is on.They just dont wait for the green to come in.They have a calculation in mind when the red will go off and green will come in.And they just rush in before that calculated time just ends.Once my friend's bike has collided with someone else bike because of this problem where the other guy also calculated like my friend.

I try to be a good boy and obey the rules.

So normally I will wait for the green man. Sometimes though, you know, I might get carried away. But that's that.:P

It is difficult to be a pedestrian or driver around here. Walking is dangerous here. You start to cross the street when you have the right of way and then the light turns while you are in the middle of the street. So many drivers around here run red lights that the city set up cameras to catch them. I dont usually walk along any street here if I can avoid it. Much too dangerous.

In our country too, people rush at the red light and i dont understand why do they do that. it is so risky. i never do that. its better and safe to wait for a moment and then move on than to rush and risk your life and also pay the ticket. neither me nor my hubby have ever broken any rules . he is a lawyer by profession and has practised in High Court, Supreme court. he is a person of rules and regulations.

It really is a bad habit. I try not to do it and I also then try and drive slow enough so that if the light does change I can stop in time.
