I have to write in English here. And I must read in English here.
Try to speak English is my other way to improve my English.

I think you speak and write English very well:-) I remember living in Spain and the way I learned Spanish best was communicating with the people and reading Spanish..:-)

I had a friend from Germany once who would record herself reading out loud, then listen to her recording for her mistakes. She would read a sentence then listen. It helped her hear how she was pronouncing and where she needed to work harder at.

She became an english teacher in high school, BTW:D

i think you got all there is,i think the best way to improve your vocabulary is to read as many books as you can no matter how tedious one must consult a dictionary AND a thesaurus so that you can learn more words with similar(but not quite the same) meanings.spoken english is best improved by speaking in the language as much as possible(so obvious).i write articles writing(and read to improve my style)that certainly does improve my grasp of the language

For many people, you could go through the dictonary and pick one word a day to learn, use, and get familiar with. I have thought about doing this just to improve my vocabulary, and I was born here in the USA. This is agood way to have a larger knowledge base and a much better vocabulary. I hope this will help you out.

I have always been trying to communicate more n more in english when amongst friends. I remember there was a time when me and my friends would conduct regular Group Discussions and debates among ourselves to improve our communicational skills. Moreover it helps if you read lots of english stuff, and also write a lot. I would say even English movies are a good way of imbibing the desire to speak in english.

The seven steps you mentioned in your post are good steps you are following. conversing with foreigners is also good to improve one's english. Taking exams. is a waste of time. Reading enlish novels also improves one's english. so best of luck in improving your english.

I read english literatures, novels, english communication skills textbooks, watch movies, and also by reading/posting here on mylot. Filipino's, as most people from foreign countries say, are good in expressing and conversing their feelings through the english language. We are one of the best second-language user's that communicates through english, the reason why call center companies are booming here.

I can say that I am good in writing, though not that good in conversing but I don't care because most of the foreigners I've spoken with told me that they can understand what I was trying to deliver.

I took training english 101
I watch english movies & tv series.
I read the newspaper everyday
I talk to people who speak the english language.
I search for words if i don't know its meaning.
