Did you go? It was in Wheeling, Illinois this weekend. $10 per adult, $5 for children up to age 10. Just to get in the door. To look at what other people had built. Mini figures and Lego kits were available for sale through private businesses, NOT through the Lego Company themselves. Which equals price hikes through the roof everywhere and complete mismash of product. Don't get me wrong, our son had a fantastic time and was very happy with our day out. But it was so not worth the incredible long drive or the expense. Lego is a major company, it should have been much, much better than what it was. So here's to hoping that next year's event will be what it should have been this year. If you went, what were your pros and cons? I'd have to say for myself, the highlight of the event was meeting Greg Hyland in person and commissioning him to draw a Lego Yoda for our son. My son stood and watched him draw it, which makes it even more special. Not to mention that Mr. Hyland is a very kind, kid-friendly man! Or as my son said "he is awesome!"
