Which NFL team is your favorite and why? |
| |
| Do you cheer for them even when they stink, or are you only a fan when they are winning? I am a Bills fan, I grew up in upstate NY and have been a fan since a young girl. Now I live in Florida and while I will always support my bills I feel obligated to support a home team, so I root for the Jags. My husband on the other hand will only root for the Steelers and the Gators which is college. | | | | | |

| | I usually root for the teams from where I grew up, mostly 'cause I live in Pittsburgh. And well, I feel that though the Steelers might be a good team, their management has made them a financial drain on the city. Same for the Pirates and the Pens. They jump up and down being spoiled brats demanding (and getting) new stadiums when the old ones aren't even paid off-- AND the city ends up in "Act 47" (the PA municipal equivalent of bankruptcy). I grew up in the Bay Area, and root for the SF Giants and the Oakland Raiders--also due to the fact they aren't exactly dynasty winners. I also lived in NYC for a while and got in the habit of cheering for the Yankees. | | | | | | |

| | I cheer for the Packers and have been a fan my entire life. Most of it has to do with the fact that I was raised in Wisconsin, but I also like the fact that the Packers are a community owned team. There is no rich owner earing money off of the fans, all the profits go back into running the football team. This makes the team part of the community and fans stick with them through rough times and losing seasons (like the last couple). That's why we have a waiting list for season tickets that's over 100 years and counting. That's why we have thousands of fans attend practices and why we sell out our yearly intrasquad scrimmage. I don't think I could ever cheer for another NFL team no matter where I live. | | | | | | |

| | I am a Texans fan. I was a Oilers fan before they moved. So needless to say, I'm used to supporting losing teams. The neat thing about Houston Teams however, is they seem to know how to lose in grand fashion. They don't just lose, they blow it majorly. That seems to at least keep losing interesting. I think that Houston fans are addicted to losing. If our teams our winning, all we have to do is just wait, and the losing will return. Oh well, things could be worse. We could all be Cowboy fans. | | | | | | |

| | I actually like the texans quarterback who's name has escaped me, but he was my fantasy quarterback one year and he actually did ok by me. He throws all the time a fantasy teams dream. I feel sorry for him though he gets a bad rap because he has no offensive line, like that is somehow his fault. My sister is a cowboys fan from the winning years, I dont think she has supported them in many years, although I think they looked at least promising last year. | | | |

| | Earl definately was the man. The Oilers during the Luvya blue era were a very exciting football team. Like I said, The Oilers took losing to a new level. Exciting. They could break your heart and you would still love them. When they Lost to the steelers back in the 70's they would come home from the airport and go to the dome where 70'000 fans would be waiting to cheer their lovable losers back home. I believe this happened twice. As far as David Carr and the Texans go, He could have the tendacy to have average fantasy numbers. He's not someone you would want to start all the time however. Their new quarter back, Matt Schaub might just have some good numbers this year. They need another WR to go with Andre Johnson but other then that, Schaub may have a good year. | | | |

| | Have they benched Dave Carr for Schaub? Dave Carr was my fantasy quarterback two years ago and he did well enough by me to get me all the way to the playoffs, and third place for the year. I think that was pretty good numbers. I didnt have him last year and he only did mediocre numbers. I am gonna get Peyton or Donnovan this year come **** or high water. | | | |

| | They traded for Matt Schaub, Who was Vick's backup in atlanta, for two second round draft picks and swapping this years first rounders. Then they released Carr. He is currently a backup QB in Carolina. As far as McNabb goes, there are at least 5 or 6 QB's way better then him this year, fantasy wise. | | | |

| | I disagree McNabb or Peyton will be my first round pick this year. If McNabb is healthy it will be him if not it will be Peyton. Actually one of them will be second I always take a running back first. | | | |

| | My favorite NFL team would have to be the New England Patriots because they just seem like they would be America's team. They also know how to win. Sure the last couple of years they have been coming up short, but they are the only team that I know in the NFL that can trade that many players from their team and still make it to the AFC championship every year. | | | | | | |

| | I have been a bills fan as long as I can remember. I think because we were from ny and all my uncles were giants fans, my sister and I rebelled and became bills fans. My other sister is a cowboys fan yucko. My husband has been to heinz field several times, last year for xmas he got tickets to jacksonville to see the jags play the steelers. I myself have been to bills game twice, my sister many more times than that | | | |

| | I like to hop around. My all time favorite team are the Green Bay Packers. Since they are not close to winning, there is no need to cheer for them. Last year I cheered for the Bears and the Colts. This year I think I will cheer for the same teams eventhough I think New Orleans, San Diego, Seattle, and Carolina all have a chance this year. The Bears will not take home the prize if they can't get a better quaterback. Indy looks good on offense and defense, so the superbowl door is still open for them I think. | | | | | | |

| | That's is so nice that you root for the home team. And I can understand your hubby too. I was born in Philly but I always rooted for the Steelers. But through the years I have picked up 5 more teams that I love. The six I am wedded to, for better or worse I root for these teams. Steelers came first, then I added The Redskins, The Giants, The Jets, The Saints and The Seahawks.I root for The Steeler because I liked Terry Bradshaw,Lynn Swan and Franco Harris. And they beat The cowboys.I added The RedSkins because I am in the D.C area and they are the home team and I got to see them and like them. Joe Theisman, Art Monk, And Marc Mosley were my men.And they were the sworn enemies of the cowboys.I love, love defense so when I saw L.T. I was in love. Since they are in the same division with the Skins, I got to see them often. I love Bill Parcells , Phil Simms, and L.T.With the Jets it was because of another defensive player, Marc Gastineau. I loved how he player with reckless abandon. And the history with Broadway Joe.Classic.With the Saints it was because of a coach.Jim Mora.I saw him in the 80's and started rooting for the Saints, Later I was glad beacuse of Horn. And Last but not least is the Seahawks. It was The Seahawk with the Mohawk,Brain Bosworth.another flamboyant player that caught my eye. And there was Steve Largent too. And now Shaun Alexander. I have rooted for all six. It is a little sticky when the Skins play the Giants, but it was good too. I root for whichever team has the ball.I have stayed a fan for better or worse. Through the "Dead Skins" years and the Superbowl years. | | | | | | |

| | Well I thank you so much for posting, but ooh I dont like phil simms or L.T. I love phil simms as a commentator but i thought he was the work quarterback ever. Couldnt throw a football more than 3 feet lol, and he will admit that. My husbands brother is a huge skins fan, his whole house is practically decorated with it. | | | |

| | That is okay about Phil and L.T.Oh back in the day when Dallas was to come to D.C. to play , all of D.C. would be decked out in maroon and gold. And this was when the RedSkins couldn't beat the Cowboys. It didn't matter it was "Beat Dallas Week". | | | |
