My guy is in New York City! So unfair! |
|
Saturday, my guy went to work and was asked to fly to New York City to help out the guys that work up there for a few days. When he first told me about it, I thought he'd be working the whole time and felt bad for him. He didn't have time to come home and pack a bag or anything. So, I hadn't talked to him until this morning, I didn't want to use up his battery on his cell phone.
So, he just called. He's been working, sure, but on his off time he's been wining and dining around Manhattan, taking cab rides into Queens and Brooklyn, walking the street of Times Square! He went on and on about all of the fun I would have, all of the Broadway shows I'd love to see, all of the shopping I could do, and just how much fun I would have.
When we moved to the East Coast, we had all kinds of travel plans, and we did get to do a lot, but because of our dog, we were restricted to day trips only. I'm so jealous he got to spend a couple days in such an exciting place!

1. TerryZ (11466) | 3 years ago | Then you have to plan something for and him or just you to go and do something nice. I personally dont think New York City is that exciting. Ive been there only a couple of times and that was enough for me.LOL

Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | Oh, I just love to travel! I don't really care where we're going, just lets go! But in the last three years, we haven't been able to travel together because of our doggy.

2. nicolec (1646) | 3 years ago | Sounds to me like next time he gets to stay home with the dog while you go. Or find yourself a dog sitter and go together. At least he's thinking of you and all the fun things YOU would enjoy. If my guy went, all I would hear about is all the stuff HE enjoyed.
| |
| |
|
|
Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | Unfortunately, the dog sitter is out of the question. I wouldn't say he's aggressive, but he's very capable of seriously harming someone. We're very careful with him.

3. 34momma (4779) | 3 years ago | and you should be jealous! LOL as a New Yorker myself, it is the greatest place on earth! i personally don't know if i would want to live any other place. all that goes on here will keep you busy for as long as you want to be busy. then you have those wonderful spots that are so special and quiet you would not think you are still in the city that never sleeps

Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | So, is that an invite to stay at your place? Will you give me the tour of the city on the cheap?!

Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | North Carolina, but just a little over a year ago, we lived in DC, so that would have just been a hop! We used to travel all the time in our hometown, but when we moved to DC, we could only take day trips because no one was around to take care of our dog. We haven't traveled together in three years!

beautyqueen26 (9128) | 3 years ago | Having kids will do that to you, right? Me and the hubby used to be globetrotters, at least around the country. But, once the baby came along, we suddenly sprouted roots. Imagine that!

4. webeishere (12371) | 3 years ago | If I was in his shoes I don't think I would have been telling you how much fun you "COULD" have IF you were there. I'd just mention about my working and leave it at that. Kind of mean what he did I feel in a sense. Be happy that he did have a good time at least there while working too. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

5. whiteheather39 (13254) | 3 years ago | Why should he not enjoy a couple of days in a new city. I used to travel a lot in my job and after work my co-workers and I would see the sights and pick up a couple of souvenirs. Would you really feel happier to think he was sitting alone in a hotel room? If you let him know how jealous you feel he may not tell you what he is doing if he has to leave on business again. (I wouldn't) LOL

Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | Oh, no, when I say I'm jealous, its in a nice way. He and I used to travel all the time. Unfortunately, all of of travels in the past three years has has to be done separately, because we can't leave our dog with anyone. And when we lived in our home town, we had friends that would care for him. I don't say I'm jealous to be malicious towards his good time, just the same as he doesn't tell me about his fun to slap me in the face. I'm glad he had a good time, but I'm sure I can speek for him when I say we both wish I could be there with him. Smiles!

6. margieanneart (16820) | 3 years ago | Sorry sweetie. But, if it isn't dogs, or pets, it could be children. Hopefully this won't happen often. Otherwise, perhaps you can make plans for someone to watch your dog, and you can go too. God bless, M&M

7. charlene2350 (4850) | 3 years ago | I lived in Brooklyn for 3 years and I didn't like it at all. All the traffic and the smog. There is a lot about NYC that is not pretty. It's pretty at night with all the lights, but in the light of day, it's not all that to write home about. There are some pretty spots, but so much is run down... unless it has changed since I lived there.

8. Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | It sounds like your guy is having a great time in New York City, Katesmama. I'm sure he would have a much better time if you were with him, and I imagine that he cries himself to sleep every night asking the gods why fate has cursed him so as to be away from you whilst in the city of your dreams. I bet that he has to have fresh linen put on his bed every morning due to his tears soaking them beyond repair.
| |
| |
|
|
Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | That "fresh linens" thing, is that a set up? Are you trying to get me to say something to get my nice little discussion a mature content tag? Well, I will not go there. Not today anyway, hit me back tomorrow. (LOL)
| |
|
|
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Ah, you give me far too much credit, Katesmama. My remarks were meant to be innocent. I was just thinking about the tears of sadness your man must cry without you with him. Nothing naughy. I don't know you well enough for a bit of naughtiness.:)
| |
|
|
Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | Oh, but I've read enough of your responses and relpies that I would not have sent you a friend request if I did not expect a bit of naughty.
| |
|
|
Transdisc (18489) | 3 years ago | Who me?
I fear that I am often misunderstood.
However, for you, I shall try to make an effort starting tomorrow. For today, I was just trying to put you at ease. Your guy is probably not having near the fun as he appears to be having.

10. beautyqueen26 (9128) | 3 years ago | Oh wow! It's been years since we have been anywhere. We live so close to the beach, but rarely go. I'd actually pay him real cash if he'd take me out somewhere fun or exciting. But, since the kid got here, we just don't do that kind of stuff. Though sometimes I wish he'd go off on a business trip.
I guess our situation is kind of opposite, in that both me and him are stuck in the same spot baby sitting all day! Hope your guy takes some good photos. Sounds like he's had some fun. Not too much fun, I hope!
| |
| |
|
|
Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | Yeah, not too much fun! Now both of you get off your tails and hit that beach! Its a luxury we can't all have!

Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago | I would kill to go to the beach! I saw the ocean for the first time ever about 5 years ago. We were in San Diego and it was January, so no swimming. when we moved to the east coast, my friend flew out for a visit so I drove her down to the beach. We were in traffic so long, we only had time to take a walk, a few pictures, eat dinner and go back up to DC. And my guy and I have been to Atlantic City a few times, but you wouldn't want to swim there. So, I've never swam in the ocean.:(
