its all belief. if we believe it is bulit by ram , it is. if it is not built by ram , then it is not. but we can see many incidents, things which are told in ramayan or mahabharath are the part of everybdoy's life. it may not be the same but a part we are doing is definitely the same as those happened or written. can u believe ram travelled in a aeroplane (pushpak viman) without pilot? but now its possible. we heard about hitting arrows without seeing at it(shbdavedi) is that possible today (missiles). can u belief kauravas born as test tube babies. its possible now. only whatever possible to prove by us we say its true. if it is not possible to prove we say it is belief. is that bridge really built by ram? its belief till it will prove

The point of the Ramayana is not about a monument or two. It is about the fundamental ethical conduct- the victory of reason and virtue over anger, greed and pride. It is an ancient tale that is remarkable in its geographical sweep and accuracy. I for one, am less concerned about the historicity of lord Rama. What matters is the message of the tale that will remain forever. IMHO the decision on the Ramar Setu needs to be made on the basis of economic benefits accruing any environmental degradation that this development might cause rather than impossible-to-establish/ disprove evidence of linkage to the Ramayana. This would be valid no matter the religious denomination that it derives from.
