What Do You Wish The Happy Couple For Their Marriage?  |

|  Having just attended a family friend’s wedding recently I’m feeling quite sentimental and mushy, I thought I’d ask my fellow mylotters what they wish for people when they attend their wedding. I don’t know if anyone’s noticed that I can babble on for ages. I never use a few words when I can use 100s instead LOL!
When I give wedding cards I always write in a bit extra which comes from the heart, in fact, I tend to try to buy cards which have nothing written inside so I can write my own best wishes to the couple. I always include thing like wishing them understanding each other, happiness, eternal love, good health and prosperity. I’m not a fan of wishing people good luck but I think the things that I wish them cover all areas of life which they need. I’m not saying that any of my wishes will come true for them but I like to think at least some of my good wishes will come to fruition for them!
What sort of thing do you wish for couples on their special day and their life ahead? Or do you buy a wedding card and hope that the words written by the professional greeting card writers will say it all for you?

| |  I usually make my own card and have been doing this for years.
I try to write something personal about the couple and what I have observed about them.
If I know one is finishing school or one is changing jobs, something that will be important to them.
Oh and somewhere on the card I put a picture of each of them. Susan

| | That's very nice Susan, I wish I could make my own too, in fact, there's no reason I shouldn't - it's quite easy to buy the materials to make your own cards and then to be able to completely write your own best wishes in there is a pretty cool way to show you've taken the time to make it personal to them. Adding a picture of them is a nice touch too! xx | | | |

| |  That's a good idea to write your own cards. My sister's husband takes lots of photos and makes calandars out of them as a hobby. He gives them away for Xmas and New Year. :-)

| |  I will usually buy a card that has room in it for me to write, in addition to the commercial sentiment. Sometimes I will make miniature cards, with a little personal verse. My wish for any couple getting married is that they learn to have a true partnership, leaning on each other, learning from each other, and trusting each other with everything, especially their fragile hidden selves. I do not take chances with cards, even if I like the outside, the inside must be just right as well. If it cannot be just right, then yes, I would rather get a blank one, as I know my own wishes will be sincere.

| |  I am also the type who likes to write on all areas on the card that I bought. I like to say a lot of things too and make it more memorable and personalized when I give something. Sometimes, I even right a poem especially for the person when the mood really takes me. I don't really go for those professional cards. Though they say some things that are really clever and meaningful to me, but I just would like to say things in my own words.

| |  Hi anonymili. Its not my habit to write down a novel for anyone's wedding, LOL. I don't buy wedding card with full of sentimental thoughts either.
I prefer to use less and few choices of words that spoke a lot. Most of the weddings I attended are my close friends. I didn't deemed it important to write more than a simple "Happy wedding" or "congratulations." They all know what I really wish them for.

| |  i wish that their lives no matter what comes is sustained by the Love they feel this day...i hope for them that as years go by they remember the wedding day and the vows ...and when they are surrounded by grandchildren i hope they still hold hands and are each others best friend ...those are my wishes for lovers everywhere
