Are we becoming a nation of diabetics?

We need to become more active, and encourage the younger set to be more active too. Its time to put away the PS3, and the Wiii, and get the bicycle out. Time for couples to take each other for a walk and get out and get some exercise!

I think that we are becoming a nation of sedentary, overweight diabetics. The way we live has changed so much, I think it's harder to be active and eat healthy (not impossible). It's a lot easier to grab a big mac or a bucket of chicken then it is to actually go to a grocery store, buy all of your fresh ingredients, spend time preparing it, etc.

I don't think it would be very feasible to put an entire city on a diet and mandate them to exercise. Probably a controlled study of willing participants would be a better idea. I'm sure they've done some types of studies about this in the past.

Interesting thoughts here. I would never think Cities or towns as a whole could succumb to Healthier living like this, but as a whole, it would take too much for it to happen in more than small groups of people. But you could be on to something. They could probably benefit from starting groups like Healthy Eating for Diabetics as in like the Weight Watcher groups, and it would benefit people Big time. Actually I wish since I am an Insulin Diabetic there were Groups like this. It would make it a lot easier.
