WHY do you watch AMERICAN IDOL?

hmmm... i watch to see talented people sing... i actually dont enjoy the auditions part that much when they make fun of people... but seeing people like fantasia, kelly, vonzell solomon, camille velasco, carrie underwood, bo bice, paris bennett, kellie pickler, blake lewis, jordin sparks, taylor hicks etc get their big breaks its awesome! and it's nice hearing and seeing talented people perform

That part is nice, but you dont get to see that until half way through the season. every once in a while I will watch the finals with my mom and brother.

i agree... its taht part where you get to know how amazing vocalists they are...

I have to say Simon. I know he is harsh, but he says the truth. The only thing that really bothers me about him is when he makes fun of appearances, whether it be their weight or just outward appearance. Other than that...I think these people need to know the truth about how they sound. Sometimes I am believed these people tihnk they actually sound good! And I think it is terrible but some peoples friends and family let them audition after hearing them sing.

I watch AI becuase I learn a lot about music. I also love the many multi faceted artists that appear on the show. The auditions are lots of fun to watch. Maybe not just because they make fun of a person, but because they provide some factual truth as to who they are. Being as the seventh season is gearing up for auditions they know and so should the people auditioning that there standards are high.

I love the many great talents of the show! I am a huge fan of Katharine McPhee, Diana DeGarmo, Jasmine Trias, Carme Rasmusen, Kim Caldwell, Clay Aiken etc etc and the list goes on. I have been watching since season 1.

good for you! what made you watch it through and through this year?

I just really liked almost everyone this season...at least everyone in the top ten. Blake and Melinda were my favorites, but I also really liked Gina and Phil and was sorry to see them both go. I am disappointed that Blake didn't win, but Jordin did a great job, too...she deserved it.

i like jordin too but melinda and blake shouldve met in the finals...

Definitely! I had fully expected that Blake and Melinda would be the final two. I thought that from the beginning. So, I think that's why I never expected Blake to win and wasn't as disappointed when he didn't...because I assumed he'd go up against Melinda. When it ended up being him and Jordin, I did get my hopes up for a bit thinking he had a chance but it was brief.

Ahhh..I'm glad I'm not the only one. :) So many people didn't think Blake was good enough to get where he did, but I thought he was great. I'm looking forward to next season. :)
