Which is your favorite festival and how do you celebrate it?I like the festive atmosphere. There is a feeling of freshness and a sense of unity on a festival day. I feel happy seeing people dressed up well and people look more energetic, enthusiastic and happy on a festival day when compared to other days. Friends, do you agree with me. nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | We match here. I too like Diwali a lot. It is my favourite festival. I like the sound of crackers however deafening it is. It gives me a great sense of excitement. I too like to see those lamps in evrybody's house and love to roam that day. These days people celebrate Diwali irrespective of the religion and that is the greatness of Diwali and its atmosphere.

2. kaplya (1010) | 1 year ago | yes and i think that's why they have created so many festivals to fill color in our life and to refresh our life from time to time!:) my favorite one is the local festival of east india that is of Durga Puja or Navaratra, as it is known in north. i feel the environment around this festival very enthusiastic and full of energy. we go to different temples on the day and at night time roaming around city feels just so good. it's something like picnic!:)

nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | My favourite festivals are Diwali and Ganesha Chaturti. I know Navaratri as it has become famous in South too. You are referring to a festival where people especially ladies do that Garba dance. It is so nice to see. I like it a lot. As you rightly said we have created so many festivals to fill color in our life and to refresh our life from time to time. On a festival day I also like to roam around the city to see the happiness on faces of everybody. The entire festival day is full of energy.

6. hollowheart (611) | 1 year ago | i love the festivals of india except holi, though i am fan of Lord krishna. The best is durga puja. In kolkata and other places of west bengal u will find it as a very special puja. Its for 4 days and the best part is the way people dress, dance with the dhunuchi (earthen pot with burning coal in it) Then offcourse the wonderful elegant lightings depicting the lasest developments, disasters and not to miss the crouds at the pandals. Its atleast some 6000-10000 people at a time as recorded by he media in each of the famous pandals., lot odf prize and awards, competitions, charitywork. You must see the pandals. Its with the most innovative idea starting from paper, wood, biscuits, empty cans, and other things hat u can just immagine. Its worth being stored lifelonfg in a museum. Thats the value of the art done by these poor men. But its thrown away or reused later. I hope i couldgive u a small glimpse of puja in kolkata. I have always been a part of this huge crowd, bu now i am here so visit pandals in Bangalore.

nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | Your response is very exciting to feel and to read. I like Holi too because it is far too colour like Diwali though it cannot match the splendour of Diwali. Eventhough I am not from Kolkatta I like Durga Puja a lot. There is a community hall just behind my home and every year Durga Pooja is performed in that hall by the Bengalis. I like the sound of the drum and earthen pot with burning coal in it. Everybody irrespective of their gender and age dance to a nice rhythmn and it is nice to see see and to feel it. Every year I make it a point to attend the Puja.

7. rakhii (627) | 1 year ago | I too like festivals a lot. Festive season is really cool. I like Diwali the most because it is the festival that provides me the best opportunity to meet relatives and friends, talk to each and every person in my life. We wish "Diwali" to each and every person in our life on this occasion. I also get an opportunity to buy new dresses for me. We buy new decorative items for our home. We lighten up our home, decorate it to the best. We have so many sweets, chocolates to eat. We get crackers. I like burning crackeres. We also go out to see the decorated city. Jaipur is decorated so well on Diwal that it looks amazing. It is known that best Diwali is made in Jaipur only. Many people come to jaipur to celebrate diwali. I also like other festivals of hindus like holi, raksha bandhan, sankranti and all. They are the festivals that brings you closer to your friends and family.

nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | I see from this forum that Diwali is everybody's favourite festival. It comes with a host of packages in the form of sweets, cracker, new dresses, lamps and lots of decorative items. I have heard a lot about Jaipur and hope one day I will be able to see it. Among other festivals I like Ganesha Chaturthi, Sankranthi and Holi. Common thing with all the festivals is the festive spirit and that is incredible and that is most I enjoy it them most. I enjoy each and every moment of this festive spirit.

8. kprabhu (214) | 1 year ago | i cant say anything about this question because you have said all the thinks when we feel in festival times! but for me its the most imprtant part in ones life! beacause you just celebrate the function as much you can and with your family members without considering any worries in life on the particular day!so i really like it very much and my favorite are great indian biggie Diwali and international biggie NewYear Celebration! "My father is honoured in this, that you produce much fruit;then you will be Mydisciples" - John 15:8

9. ssh123 (18422) | 1 year ago | Being Hindu, Being Indian, I love festivals. For me festivals means gathering at one place of all friends, relatives near and far and it leads to proper understanding of each other, food feast, exchange of gifts and wishing best for each other, taking blessings from the elders.

nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | Thanks a lot for adding a lot of things which I missed out. Yes, festivals means gathering at one place of all friends, relatives near and far and food feast. I love festivals a lot, especially the atmosphere. Not even watching a cricket match in a stadium can match the atmosphere of a festival day. It is simply great.

ssh123 (18422) | 1 year ago | I was counting the best responses for my discussion topics. I never bothered to see them. I stopped counting when it exceeded 1300. Thanks for bringing it to my knowledge about best response subject.
| |
|
|
nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | 1300+ best responses it is incredible, and that is something I can only dream of. You need to have loads of patience to count that figure. I never counted by best responses, till one day I thought of doing so. Once I came close to 50, then I kept on counting on a regular basis. For me Best Responses are a huge motivation to post more and more.
| |
|
|
ssh123 (18422) | 1 year ago | No need to to put so much efforts to count. Go to the discussion heading, select my best responses, count the number of BR per page, count the number of pages and multiply. Earlier I used to search books, magazines, google and other sites to find the correct answers for the topics, because 6 months ago, the mylot topics were based on technical/engineering matters, mostly dealing with electronics, automobiles etc. now it is more of general.

nrsatish29 (8168) | 1 year ago | I enjoy the festive day whatever may be the climate and wherever I am except for one thing. I dont want it to rain on a festival day. I feel somewhat gloomy to see and feel the rain especially on a festival day.
