Independance Day  

I live in a small town.I will go to the parade.Go to the local park for music ,food,friends...The whole town gets together on this day.At night we have amazing fireworks...The fireworks are the best...

The 4th of July is one of my least favorite holidays
A) It makes me think about my brother that was killed in the Army in Korea because he used to love the fireworks shows.
B) There are the BarBQ's that everyone and their second cousin wants us to go to and I dont want to go. I dont like these people the rest of the year why do I want to go on this day of the year?
C) At said BarBQs there is gauranteed to be a bunch of drunk ignorant adults that want my kids to mess around with fireworks. NO!!!!
D) Because of said drunks I always end up getting in a fight because someone thinks I am being an overprotective mom. You damn right! If you want to get plastered and play with explosives then go do it somewhere far away from my kids.
Of course we got roped into going to on of those stupid BarBQs again this yeat and I am already dreading it.
Its at one of my husbands coworkers house and I am thinking that a bunch of drunk employees griping about their jobs while playing with explosives is not a good envirnoment for me and my kids.
Sigh!

We are celebrating with our neighbors at her pool we will probably all pile in the cars and go see the fireworks downtown. Eat drink and be merry! Not too much imbibing since we have kids. Don't want to be a bad example!

I will work a twelve hour shift with my Disability clients. They know how to party, but without drinking. That is okay by me, as I have seen what the stupid people in my family act like when they get drunk. I can cut loose without it, given the right environment. I will work all day playing games, and talking and doing crafts, perhaps running a few errands. In the evening there will be a picnic and games for clients and families, and it will be fun. I like to think I am helping these folk keep their Independence by doing the things I do. It is interesting to work for a place that has it built in to their mission statement that part of a quality life is having fun. Play a little music, and you should see them dance!

Well like you said it falls on a Wends so we're not really doing much of anything. We live in an apartment complex so we can't set off fire works around here. Our parents live about an hour away so going to their house is not really worth it when we have to be back so he can work on Thursday. So we'll probably go to the movies. I wanna see Transformers :)

Friends, food and fun, swimming and barbecueing will be had at my joint. I am hosting the shindig this year. I will supply the coals, drinks, and fire works, and I have asked my friends to funish their own meat, and then we will do pot luck. I am not sure how many will come. I have a swimming pool which will come in handy because it will be in the low 100's here.

We will celebrate independance day, by Celebrating "Canada Day!" Canada has always been Independant. We had a little brush with the US in 1812 but we won that one easily. We had the Indians on our side and the US didn't figure that one in. We just sit around and tell stories on Canada day, till we get thirsty, and then we open a "Canadian." (thats our favourite beer)..... We always have Canada Day on the first of July weekend, because it takes 3 days to sober up.

I always loved Independence Day! This is one of my favorite holidays! My brother in law's birthday is on the 2nd, and he's coming to PA from WV, which is exciting since we haven't seen him since Easter. We'll go over to my husband's parents' house and swim... and EAT, and probably drink a little too. I'm not sure about fireworks yet, sometimes you can see them from the back yard when they set them off at the park nearby, but even without fireworks, our 4th of July is always great because we're with family!!

We will celebrate on the 3rd- with a big Party- fireworks, great food, lots of beer and drinks- and lots of tents in our yard- so noone drives like that! What a great time- I too have to work on thursday- but I'll still go watch the fireworks on the 4th also- Whats another sleepy day at work- most of my co-workers were smart and took it off- so it will be a slow quiet day- I can catch up on mylot-

Well..we don't really celebrate it up here, though the celebrations of visiting americans can be heard on occassion.

However, Canada Day is the first of July, which is the equivelant of your Independence day.

I used to despise all the celebrations and the long weekend, all my family and friends gone away somewhere..

Why? Because it interfered with my birthday , lol

Somewhere along the line I just decided that days of partying surrounded it and that wasn't so bad..

I won't get double time and a half this year.. I dont work sundays, but thats ok. I think double time and a half is my favourite part of stat holidays!

I'm not up late enough to watch fireworks..lol, last time he occassion arose, we all fell asleep on the couch waiting for dusk!
