I cannot boot my Dell Inspiron 6000.Diagnostic test ..  email this discussion to a friend?

I cannot boot my Dell Inspiron 6000. It shows a bad PBR instead ofbringing up the screen. I used F12 to run a diagnostic test and it showsError Code OFOO-136C. What does this mean and how can I correct trheproblem? I am using another computer to contact you.

Couple things could have occurred.
1) BIOS Settings reset. Enter the BIOS settings and make sure the Hard disk, etc are set correctly. If you need help with that one, you're calling Dell Support.

2) Boot record blown on hard disk--- Time to reload the OS. Make sure you ensure #1 is not the problem first or you could be in for a world of pain.

3) Dead hard disk. If #1 and #2 don't help, the drive itself is probably toast and it's time for service from Dell.

Note: Got all this from about 5-10 mins of websearching.
