Are men addicted to sports?  |

 It seems men can't go one day without sports in a newspaper, sports on TV, talking about sports at work or with the guys. Even if they never meet any of the guys on a team, they babble about sports when they have much moe important things to worry about. Are men addicted to sports? or do they just use it as a nonstop escape valve to distance the other things in life at arm's length?

2.  thrwbckjay67 (2358) | 1 year ago |  I think that there is a lot about sports that lend themselves to guys, but girls, too. I work a sa sports journalist for a website, so I guess my view might be a bit skewed. A lot of times, there is a competitive person in people hiding and rooting for sports and cheering for certain teams gets that competitive spirit out of them. I think it's no different that people getting interested in celebrities life (a la Paris Hilton) or a television show (i.e. Lost or Heroes) or anything like that. Many times, sports teams have brought people together and gotten us through hard times (Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, 9/11 in New York). It could be addiction, but I think it's something that appeals to the natural competitive nature in most and give people escapes as wlel.

Sports is a type of game that has an element of fun and enjoy. That's why they seem like addicted to the sports section in the newspaper. They couldn't face the day without reading that section. However this is my opinion only, no hard feelings ok?

As the fan following of most sports contain both men and women as everybody wants to enjoy good game of cricket, tennis match...I feel some men get too emotional with their reactions to results of matches taking it personally.
I too enjoy sports as playing sports is good for one's health.
