Dear Sirs,I have a problem re waxing a faux finished project. I melted bee wax in apot which was inside a hot water bath, applied it with a rag??ut!Itdried white!! The finish is destroyed isn't it? What is the correctprocedure to wax a surface as a protection coat?The other question is regarding finishing raw mahogany wood.There is the option of staining it, and then applying a clear coat..The other option is to apply just linseed oil (boiled)??ut this won'tchange/darken the original pretty pale wooden door.Normally I am painting the faux wood after priming it and painting thewood grains by myself but the client wants to keep the original grains.He is asking to get a darker mahogany red shade.I am thinking to apply a glaze ( oil/turpentine/pigments ) and then toapply a UV protection coat Is there a chance that the wood soaks in theglaze .How should I proceed?
