Did you cut your long hair for baby? |
|
My friends all had long hair. I noticed one by one as they fell pregnant and had babies that they all cut their off. Is this for time management? Is it easier. Have you still got your long hair and a baby?

1. kelly3 (4848) | 3 years ago | I kept my hair long when I had my daughter. But then, my hair has always been pretty easier to take care of, even though it has always been long. I just brush it and put it up in a pony tail.

3. hockeygal4ever (5357) | 3 years ago | I think a lot of "new moms" feel that the shorter hair is just wash and go, making it a little less stressful in a time of real hectic family life. I personally never did it because my hair is naturally curly and pretty much wash and go anyways but I can understand women feeling it would be easier.

4. serenidity (503) | 3 years ago | yes I used to have long hair and cut it off after my baby was 6 months old. two main reasons for that, firstly i was losing a lot of hair, although being long, my hair had gone down on the volume and looked limp and thin all the time. secondly, my baby has this weird habit of pulling my hair and sleeping so the shorter it is, the less painful it is for me.

5. mtoxales (256) | 3 years ago | I did cut my hair when I was pregnant because I started to have falling hair. I think the baby was taking all the nutrients and cutting my hair was a way to stop the hair from falling.

6. ctv101103 (624) | 3 years ago | yes, i did cut my hair when i had my baby. but that was because they kept falling off. it lessened when i cut my hair short. also, my baby kept on tugging at my hair.
a cousin also cuts her hair short whenever she gets pregnant. her reason for this was -- our hair needs protein to grow. keeping your hair long means having your hair get most of the proteins you take in instead of going to the baby. she didn't want to sacrifice her baby's needs for that.

7. TeresaK (8081) | 3 years ago | I had long hair when all three of my children were babies. I just pulled it back into a ponytail most of the time, to keep them from pulling on it. As far as time management, since I usually just washed it, toweled it till it was damp, and then let it dry naturally, it never really took that much of my time.

8. roniroxas (5937) | 3 years ago | when i was pregnant with my first born my mom told me to cut my hair for it will be a busy month a head when the baby come out and having a short hair will be time conserving she said. i followed what she said. i have four kids and everytime the due date comes nearer i have a hair cut. it is really time saving if you have a short hair. well for me its okay because you can grow back the hair you cut. and style it in the way you wanted it. i had my hair short but it was still fashionable, it is not too boyish and it was really cute so you need not to worry.

9. sunshine4 (6288) | 3 years ago | I had long hair when I had my babies and kept it pulled back because it was easier. Then as I started to get older I got my hair cut. I keep it shorter now because it is easier and it also is more stylish.

10. Gemmygirl1 (2628) | 3 years ago | I already had fairly short hair before i had my daughter, i had it cut again about 6 months after i had her - just before Xmas so i'd look a little more respectable in the family Xmas pics! I think that if women cut their hair while pregnant, it's probably just coz they realise they wont have as much time once the baby arrives & anything that cuts down the time, is a good thing, wash & towel dry - you're done! Short hair doesn't require as much maintaining & is easier to take care of.
