I must admit that I didn't know what to expect from you, Katesmama. You could have a long and hard table, or perhaps even something round and soft, or even concave. Who knows? There are all kinds of coffee table styles these days. It's fun to see what everyone has. :)

Okay, so now that I have hit my 500th post, you get to see the hope chest/coffee table. I know you've been waiting with baited breath... The quality of the photo is really blurry, but you get the idea.:)

Yeah, I was bored yesterday...LOL.

The plates are decorative plates from different countries. I collect them, sort of unoficially. I have one from Romania, Mexico, Holland, Japan, Brazil, England, and France. Most of them were gifts, although I have been to some of those countries.

Did you travel to those countries for business, fun, other, or all three?

Mexico was both. I won employee of the year for my company in 2005, and the awards banquet was held in Cancun. The trip was fully paid for, and they paid for me to bring a guest. The other countries; Holland, England, and France, were all for fun. I've also been to Belgium, Wales, and Canada, but I never thought to get plates from those places for some reason. I'll just have to go back, I guess! The plates from Japan and Brazil came from one of my bosses years ago one from Romania was from one of my employees.

Belated Congratulations for 2005 Employee of the Year! What a nice thing to do for you. I so regret not buying a silver serving set when I was last in Cancun. Guess I'll have to return to get it. :)

I think that you're right about the junk, coffeeshot. I do not have a coffee table for that very reason. Well, that and I just don't like the clutter of one, even though I have plenty of space. Does that make me weird too? ;)

I enjoy antiques. Out of what material is your coffee table made?

I am not sure but it is old and has a beautiful pattern on the top. I would have to say oak because it is the color of oak!

I think that we share the same style sense, mummymo. I like very little furniture as well. We also do not have a coffee table. :)

Trans honey you are back yippee! I have missed you loads - take it your computer was fixed - heard about the lightning - that must have been scary! As for coffee tables the only thing I like to do with coffee is drink it - why have a table for that! xx

Nah, the computer wasn't fixed. I had to get a new one. But the DSL line was fixed and at the moment I'm on my son's computer until I figure out how my new one works. It's a laptop and I'm trying to figure it out. :)
