| Can having more women police force help curving crimes against women? | | | | The Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) has recommended 33 per cent representation for women in all levels of the police. In its fifth report, the panel headed by M Veerappa Moily pointed out that the low representation of women in all wings and especially the police force was another aspect of gender disparity in the criminal justice system. The ARC recommended that police at all levels and other functionaries of the criminal justice system need to be sensitised on gender issues through well- structured training programmes. The Commission also suggested that citizens groups and NGOs should be encouraged to increase awareness about gender issues in society. They shoud also be provided help to bring to light violence against women and assist police in investigating crimes against the fairer sex. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | I do not think more women police will help to curb violence. Women are weaker physically. Thet can not be as effective as men. It's a fact. They have biological problem. So better recruit more male police and make them honest in their duty. | | | | | | | | | | Criminal Check- $19.95 Instant criminal, felony-sexual offender checks-Updated daily! www.Intelius.com | add comment | | | |
