Childish

I do notice that on some occasion my elders have acted more childish then me. Just the other day my mother in law kept dumping ice cold water down my back, thinking it was funny and now i have a cold. My own mother has showed some immatureness as well these past few months with picking. One day she was visiting and it was chilly in my house which it gets when it isnt that hot out and i was covered up and my mother said to me turn off the air conditioner. I told her it wasnt on and she argueed it with me because she could feel the cool air which was only the air coming in from outside underneath the air conditioner and she said oh no it wasnt that if it were from outside it would be warm because it was warm outside acually warmer outside then inside but she argued and argued even after i got up and acualy turned it on to show her what it was like when it was on she argued that it had been on the entire time.

Well I believe that there is a child in every human regardless of what is his/her age.But it is true sometimes our adults treats us as if we do not know anything about the world or what is going on around us.We are smart enough I think to make our own decissions.As far as fighting on blinds,is really kiddish.I mean you should behave accordingly to your surrounding,as I said there is a child in every human It does not mean that we behave like a kid every time sso other can make fun of us or think that we are retarded.Once in a while if you behave stupid or kiddish makes sense I mean its okay but in the office or at work you should be attentive towards your work not on the blinds.You should be more respnsive at work I guess.

it simply goes to show that maturity does not necessarily go with age. sometimes when i ride a public vehicle, i hear ladies who are obviously older than me backbite ever so childishly about their workmate, i hear people gossipmongering like little kids, i even witnessed two ladies in a public washroom in the mall bickering because the other person took her time inside the cubicle. i mean what gives? you're supposed to be older than me, your supposed to be more reasonable, why are you acting so childishly? i guess that when one grows older one gets less concerned about image and the rules. or maybe they never grew up at all (i'm speaking about these ladies i've encountered acting childishly).

Well I definately know how even older kids can act more childish than my younger kids...my 14 year old decided that he wanted to act like a 3 year old last night, and well now he gets to clean the whole house because of it.


But thre are times when I have seen adults act worse than that.

I don't see them often but I hear of them more than I see them.

I have noticed that mum and older people doing more childish.
When old people become older their mind will be responsible. They always keep their mind younger. When some of them are 90 they will ply with the thing on bed.

Sometimes us*oldies* feel the need to release the inner child. We have behaved responsibly and maturely for so long that there comes a time when we have to let loose the childish part of human nature. Ok, so I don't behave quite that badly hun, but I've been a grown up, I didn't like it, so I regressed. I do sometimes act like a child but generally in a fun way rather than in a nasty way. We all have the inner child:-)

I don't consider myself one of the "younger ones" in life any more, but I can relate to your discussion.

I have often thought that my mother can be childish.
She's not a bad mom but she does a number of childish things and she just seems to have an immature mentality sometimes.

I guess maturity doesn't always come with age.

I guess we're all just different.

As to the second part of your discussion. "Why do our elders still treat us like we know nothing?"

I would guess that it has something to do with them feeling threatened. Somehow they feel like they have to assert their "place" above us. I think this happens more with people who have a certain amount of low self esteem.

I have had to deal with that situation in my family as well. I'm the youngest of four. My parents and my oldest sibling sometimes treat me as if I'm a child.
