Last night I found my self in quiet.I read a complete book about Queen Elizabeth 1st...In most cases i do not read these true life books. Now I think I ma hooked. This was a book I picked up and within 3 hours it was read from cover to back.I learned so much about the queen in which I found Elizabeth a wonderful wise woman who married her country. Her rule of england was breath taking. Now I want more knowledge.I have a few new passions in life.I now love learning about people in religion and cutlure. To learn more of Engalnd was beautiful to me.God save Elizabeth as her people shouted.Elizabeth 1 was born to rule and she not just ruled but lived by her people with her people.I just had to comment on my new found Elizabeth and her beauty in wisdom...Her crown was the country and the gems was her people...

first thing this time Elizabeth the First so let us see how the crown fitted this amazing woman for many many years...
I wonder how many Americans in Virginia wonder where they got the name of their state .....
For the record there is also an Elizabeth from Bohemia Elisabeth I of Bohemia no relation to our Queen from England

Elizabeth I
Queen of England and Ireland (more...)
Reign 17 November 1558 – 24 March 1603
Coronation 15 January 1559
Predecessor Mary I
Successor James I
Royal house House of Tudor
Father Henry VIII
Mother Anne Boleyn, 1st Marchioness of Pembroke
Born 7 September 1533
Greenwich Palace
Died 24 March 1603 (age 69)
Richmond Palace
Burial Westminster Abbey

Elizabeth I (7 September 1533 – 24 March 1603) was Queen of England, Queen of France (in name only), and Queen of Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death. She is sometimes referred to as The Virgin Queen, Gloriana, or Good Queen Bess, and was immortalised by Edmund Spenser as the Faerie Queene. Elizabeth I was the fifth and final monarch of the Tudor dynasty (the other Tudor monarchs having been her grandfather Henry VII, her father Henry VIII, her half-brother Edward VI, and her half-sister Mary I (also known as Mary Tudor or Bloody Mary). She reigned for about 44 years, during a period marked by increases in English power and influence worldwide, as well as great religious turmoil within England.

Elizabeth's reign is referred to as the Elizabethan era or the Golden Age of Elizabeth. Playwrights William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and Ben Jonson all flourished during this era; Francis Drake became the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe; Francis Bacon laid out his philosophical and political views; and English colonisation of North America took place under Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Humphrey Gilbert. Elizabeth was a decisive ruler. Her favourite motto was video et taceo ("I see and keep silent").[1] This last quality, viewed with impatience by her counsellors, often saved her from political and marital misalliances. Like her father Henry VIII, she was a writer and poet. She granted Royal Charters to several famous organisations, including Trinity College, Dublin (its official name is the College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Elizabeth near Dublin) in 1592 and the British East India Company (1600).

In her nearly forty-five years as monarch, she created only nine peerage dignities, one earldom and seven baronies in the Peerage of England, and one barony in the Peerage of Ireland. She also reduced the number of Privy Counsellors from thirty-nine to nineteen, and later to fourteen.

The Commonwealth of Virginia, one of the 13 colonies that became the United States of America, was named for Elizabeth I, the "Virgin Queen", as was the Ulster Plantation town of Virginia, County Cavan, Ireland.

In 2002, she was ranked 7th in the 100 Greatest Britons poll.

History was my main subject for graduation. Reading history gives us too valuable information and knowledge about our roots and paths of our travel through times.

I seem to have found the secret of writing good poems. To read varieties of English literature books helps a lot. Inspirations just find you in return for your wide reading and active thought. You are a good example. I am happy for that, friend.

Keep on reading books that interest you to have more inspirations for good poem writing.

Have you seen the movie? It is absolutely brilliant. As with all stories there are 2 sides, but I really enjoyed. If you ever come across the movie Lady Jane, watch it as well. Also a true story, but she was queen for something like 9 days so there is not a lot to write about, but it made the most awesome movie ever.
