That does sound like a silly study though, unless it was a response to the extreme Christian right's abuse of the books. Or unless they were doing a longitudinal study, which I still can't see being conclusive unless done very carefully.

| |  you are right. Harry Potter teaches kids a lot about friendship and staying friends with someone even when it is not easy and difficult and even life threatening things happen.
I may be contradicted by lots of evangelical Christians because I have this opinion about the Harry Potter books. But I really think they teach some about perseverance and loyalty.

| |  First of all, i hate harry potter because it is fantasy. I dont like anything that is a concept of fantasy. But children find it so interesting and it is good to know that Harry Potter is setting character into kids. However, in terms of reality, harry potter is not something i enjoy or many adults may enjoy.

| |  yup Harry Potter offers lots of lessons on courage and friendship. for one, Harry Potter started as nobody a person constantly bullied by his only muggle relatives. all of a sudden he becomes too famous not about something he did, but because of a past event and circumstances beyond his control. now who would want to simply become famous just for that reason so he worked hard to have something worth proving to the wizarding world that he is more than the scar he is known for and that he is a person struggling to become normal and known not because of the scar but because he is a good wizard. on friendship, it completely shows that hermione and ron are two loyal friends and faithful friends wherein in real life is very much hard to find. they are friends who would stick to a person through thick and thin and would never left you alone.
this is the reason why i love harry potter so much.
