Do you think the film can help create interest in that sport among audience? Former legends of the sport believe SRK might revive the national sport with his new film. ‘Chak De India’ in which he plays a women's team coach. Former hockey greats believe the Bollywood Badshah might just score for the national sport in this regard. Hockey, we all know, lags far behind cricket, football and even tennis in the Indian popularity stakes. Our sportsmen are making their mark internationally in other disciplines, but the national sport is languishing. So there is all round appreciation that Bollywood has decided to do something about it. SRK and Chak De India might just be the shot in the arm that hockey so desperately needs, feel sports people who also follow films. It might encourage youth to take up hockey again.

In the movie Im thinking about, I would not want it being revived. I saw a movie about the Myans, they played a game where you shoot a human head in a hoop or ring in the wall. Im afraid my head might be the ball.

It depends on the movie I suppose. The Harry Potter movies have created a renewed interest in archery in England but just because James Bond practised fencing in Die Another Day I think did not affect people in the same way as I also doubt that Dodge Ball with Ben Stiller changed that sport either. The best success story though is definetly the martial arts movies that over the past decades have not only sparked off the interest for martial arts created a whole subculture. So depending on the movie I suppose it could.
