Have you ever used a knitting machine? What one is best?

I've had a Brother a long time ago. It was the lower price one. I now have a Ultimate Sweater Machine that I'm trying to learn to do. I know some day I'm going to lose the use of my hands and I was wondering about an electronic knitting machine. Have you used one? How much do they cost? Are they as easy as they sound?

Oh, I'm so sorry! I almost lost partial use of my left hand 3-1/2 years ago, because I nearly cut it off with a radial arm saw! :S After two microsurgeries, and months and months of OT, I'm able to type and play piano again. But my index finger will likely always be "numb," and weak as a child's pinky (it was severed).

I'm so sorry to hear that. Man alive that must have hurt really bad. I'm having a lot of problems that come from being diabetic. High blood sugar damages the blood flow and that damages the nervs. It is very painful. I wouldn't even wish it on my evil stepmother. LOL :)

Well, I'd be a liar if I said it didn't hurt, but you kind of go into shock at first. It goes numb. That, and I have one of the highest levels of tolerance for pain of anyone I know. Back in school, I could never understand why I could take an Indian burn from guys twice my size, but they couldn't take it from me. :S
I'll tell you one thing though: About an hour later, while I was lying in the hospital bed waiting for them to bring an IV with morphine, it REALLY started to hurt. Tough as I am, I think I was in tears. The only pain I've felt in my lifetime that topped it was back pain. When I was going through that, I most certainly WAS in tears.

i have never even heard of using a knitting machine before i have only heard of using a sewing machine i am not quite sure about how i feel about using a knitting machine i mean i like sewing machines because they are just easier but knitting is not that hard to begin with and i usually prefer the old fashioned way of doing things im sure they are very expensive to buy depending on the quality that you get i know sewing machines are very expensive to buy (the good ones are at least) but they do sell little cheap ones too i once bought one for fifteen dollars but it broke so fast it was not worth it
