I wash my new clothes before I wear them. OLD NAVY Is getting worse  

Hey that's what I always do. Not only clothing also, towels, those bed in a bag. Especially underwear and bathing suit...always wash them first. Feel better to use or wear them after it being washed.

I always wash my clothes before wearing them because in general I'm just weird about germs. I actually hate trying on clothes because of the fact that I have to put them on before I actually get to wash them and it just completely freaks me out. Not to mention I don't think I've ever searched through clothes on the floor because I don't think I've ever been in a store that's that bad.

That's the way some of the Old Navy's are in my state! I think I have been to one that is well organized and doesn't have clothes strewn all over the place. It's aggravating to go to a store and sale stuff is mixed in with regualr priced items and clothes are all over the floor, etc. They do need help.

They shouldn't do that even if the clothes are cheap. I personally feel that things for sale are supposed to be respected because we pay for what we buy. We don't steal from them, and they should respect us for that. Yeah, I always wash all the clothes I buy before wearing them. My mother had taught me to do that since I was small. Maybe because she had seen ugly things like you did. Anyway, nice discussion you have. Keep doing what you like and happy posting!

I too wash my new clothes before wearing them. It is not so much about people wearing it and then return it. We try the clothes too. Isn't it the same as people 'wearing' and then return it. LOL.

The reason I wash clothes before wearing them is that I have seen for myself how dirty the clothes may be when they are transported from one place to another before the piece is completed.

The cutting may be done in the factory, it may then be outsourced to a seamstress to sew certain parts of the clothes, then to another to put in the sleeves, zip or buttons etc. In this process, the clothes are often tied in bulks and transported from one to another.

It will be great if you could wash your new clothes first before wearing them. I worked in a garment factory and I'm pretty sure some of the chemical residue is still on the fabric and you'll never imagine how the garment factory handles the clothes.

Ironically, I don't wash my new clothes before wearing because I find that after washing, it looks kinda oldish... sigh...

i believe we should always wash new clothes before wearing them. you never know where it came from. And usually when someone wants to buy a clothing they fit it first. So it is better to wash new clothes and be safe.

Ugh, I can not stand how sloppy so many retail establishments have become. It is really sad. I think you should call the home office and complain about that. Not only is it possibly going to damage the merchadise, but it could also cause a customer to slip and fall! They really need to do something about that!

No I have to say where I shop I dont find clothes on the floor. If I do I would pick them up and hang them back up. Where do you live? Some parts of town are worse than others depends on what type of people live there. There are all kinds of people in this world you know? I dont always wash my clothes before I wear them. I like to wear something that is new, smells new, looks new ect. I have also had bad experiences with washing clothes before I wear them. I have had some shrink, some bleed colors, and just terrible things that I never got to even wear them. So no I dont wash my clothes before I wear them.

if the clothes are new, do you still feel the need to wash them...if they come from a thrift store, i understand, but not if they are new. i dont wash them first, should i???
