British author pens new 007 thriller  

That would be interesting! Does it say if Sesatian Faulks is also a retired military man like Ian Fleming? If I'm right, Fleming was a retired Navy officer that's why he had that much knowledge put in his 007 series. Would there be a synopsis of that book on the internet? Jeez...I'm asking more questions than it needs here. lol.

I think that is a bad idea. Another writer should not take up anoter writers idea just to make money, and that is how i see it a money making oppotunity.

I would much rather that this Faulks had some ideas of his own and created his own caracter.

I think it will never be the same as Ian Flemmings Bond.

John Gardner, another British author, also wrote a slew of James Bond novels, and novelizations of "GoldenEye" and "License to Kill", in the 80s and 90s. Apparently he was commissioned to do so by Fleming's publisher. Also, Raymond Benson, an American author, wrote some James Bond novels, short stories and novelizations. Thank you for letting me know of the latest writer to take on the Bond literary franchise.

It'll be interesting to see what style the new author puts into them... The Gardner (spelling?) ones got a little predictable after you've read a few.
