| Ladies, do you get manicures, pedicures, waxing, etc.? Do you do it regularly or is it more of a treat thing? I do get pedicures and my eyebrows waxed but both not all the time. I would love it if someone would do everything for me right down to brush my teeth, but I have a hard time paying for something I can do myself and I can polish my own toes. So, they are more of a splurge than a regular thing. I don't know what kind of grooming things men do, but if there is a way for a guy to answer this discussion, go for it. :) | | | | | |

| | hey dfn!I usually get manicures and pedicures twice a month.I don't wax but I do go for threading.I go for facial once a month. What about you? You'd like someone to brush your teeth for you?Woah, that's a bit too much innit? But I do go for dental checkup every six months.I'm still on retainers and I floss everyday without fail.I just wish I can polish my own toes too!Guys usually would only do facial or do a lil tweezing on their facial hair oh and shave or trim their pubes.lol.I know cos my partner does that! | | | | | | |

| | My daily grooming needs are ridiculous, dfn12968. Basically, I just brush and floss my teeth. That's it for my daily routine. I try to shave at least twice a week. I can't stand shaving. I should shave every day, but I just don't. Sometimes a lot of time will pass and people will say, "Oh, you're growing a beard?" And I will say, "No. Why do you say that?" They say, "You have a beard." I say, "Oh, that thing. I'm not growing a beard. I just haven't shaved." They look at me like I'm crazy, but it makes perfect sense to me -- it's the intent. About 4 times a month, on average, I will comb / brush my hair. I've never been one to worry about my hair, except for not having it. Believe it or not, about once a year, I will get a manicure and a pedicure. I should do this more often, but I don't mostly due to time and money. I don't like to spend money on these types of things. When I do these things, I usually also get a massage. For our 20th wedding anniversary, my wife and I spent a couple of days in a spa. We got facials, manicures, pedicures, hydrotherapy (fancy word for hot tub), scalp massage, massage, foot massage / wrap / , hand massage, the whole deal. It was fun, but after about 8 straight hours, it wore me out. The next day I just sat in the sauna and hot tub. I had had enough of the spa for some time! I have never had any waxing done. The very thought of is it madness. | | | | | | |

| | What do you do with your hair the other 26 days that you don't comb it?? LOL. I am one of the few people who cannot stand massages. It never feels good...always hurts everywhere from the tailbone up. | | | |

| | You should make a 'recreation' photo now, mesmerized and post it so that we can all enjoy it. What do you mean what do I do the other 26 days? Nothing. I get up in the morning and I start my day. I brush and floss, apply deodarant and I'm ready for the day!! If my hair is short, I look ok. If it's longer and ratty looking like now, I get a lot of bemused looks. Yesterday a girl at an ice cream shoppe actually laughed at me when she saw me. I said, "What's funny?" Embarrassed, she said, "Nothing." I said, "It's me, isn't it? It's okay." She said, "Well, yeah, you do look kinda' funny." Welcome to my life. | | | |

| | You said you only comb it four days a month. And, you're joking about the ice cream shoppe....LOL. Why did she say you looked funny????? She's not used to bears eating ice cream, maybe? I can see how that might take some getting used to. | | | |

| | I wasn't kidding about any of these things, dfn12968. Remember how you seem to think that I meet people under strange situations. Stretch that concept a bit -- my daily life is on strange situation after another. At least it's not boring. In fact, I am thinking about posting a discussion on something funny that happened today, but the last time I started a discussion about my goats, it got deleted. | | | |

| | Nope can't say that I pay for any of this. This would be a luxury. I do good to pay my regular bills. Though I think we all deserve to treat ourselves to such treatment once in a while. | | | | | | |

| | I'm with you on the bill paying thing. If I didn't have my eyebrows waxed, though, I'd have a unibrow. I'm terrible at plucking. If I did that on my own, I'd end up with no eyebrows at all. | | | |

| | I get manicures and pedicures but I do it by myself. I go and spend about $12 on both sets (fake nails) and I tip my fingers and toes. Tips are fake nails with white on the top just in case. I do that when I want to treat myself to make me look pretty for a few days LOL. Ive tried waxing but it just hurts way too much LOL. I have done my eyebrows once by waxing and well lets just say you knew it wasnt professionally done. | | | | | | |

| | The most of what I got done was having my hair done at a hair saloon. I might like a manicure, hair waxing, but have not got that done. I doubt I would unless someone foots the bill. It is rather expensive, but to have someone make you look like a princess, wow!! | | | | | | |

| | I'll be honest; NO, I don't. I make sure I get a good bath daily. I got some floss and a electric toothbrush for my teeth; I started using this Whitening thing for my teeth, and it seems ok; I do believe in making yourself feel and look good. No arguments there. I like to look my best and believe in doing what needs to be done to ensure that. but I cannot afford the spa thingie all the time. Out of reach. | | | | | | |

| | i get manicures and pedicures. i have yet to try eyebrow threading. i have also tried foot scrub and bleaching. i told myself that i should get pampered twice a month, but sadly, due to my busy schedule, i haven't been near a manicurist for 3, maybe 4 months now. so it's now just a treat thing. it's a great way to relax and it'll be better if you get pampered with a friend. it'll be a great bonding activity.. | | | | | | |

| | I don't wax or do pedicures. I know a lot of women who get their nails done in that popular French nail style. The things I do are the usual things such as brushing teeth, styling my hair, etc. Something I do that most don't is once a week I use Sally Hansen's facial hair creme remover (with vitamin E). I use this on my "mustache". It's quick and easy. Just takes 6-8 minutes and leaves my upper lip smooth. I was cautious before using this and read a lot of input from the internet. I thought it would make my hair grow back in darker, but it hasn't. And once a week usually keeps me looking good except for maybe a hair or two every once in a great while. I usually just pluck these. And speaking of plucking, I also pluck my eyebrows (guess you can tell I have dark hair). I do this myself except for when I get my hair cut and then my hairdresser does it for me (included in with the price of the cut). | | | | | | |

| | For me a pedicure is a major treat! Sure I can paint my own toes, but all of the scrubbing and exfoliating and massaging, can't do that alone! I was never so much into manicures, I got one once when I gave myself a total beauty day. I love having my eyebrows waxed, its so much easier than pucking, and my eyebrows are like bushes! I don't do it often enough anymore. In the state I live in, its illegal to have children at the grooming stations, so if I don't have a sitter, I can't go. I found a nail place where if they aren't too busy, they'll volunteer to take my girl outside the shop or sit with her at the reception, but I only go there when people I know are working. It was strange the first time, but the owner of the salon is related to my neighbor, and she's the epitome of a grandma! | | | | | | |

| | I have never heard of salons not allowing kids. That's interesting. What's the reason for this? Fumes? My mom takes my niece with her all the time when she gets her nails done. | | | |
Katesmama (3210)

| | I'm not sure if its the fumes or the possiblity of accident with the chemicals. What ever it is, I took her in to one, had her in her stroller with some snacks to keep her occupied, and when it was my turn the girl asked it I had anyone who could take her. I didn't, I haven't lived here very long. And she showed me the sign stating the statute. She took me to the furthest back spa chair and helped me hide my baby from the passers by. Then I told my neighbor, and she told me about her family's salon. Odd, huh?! | | | |

| | I don't really get anything like that done. I can't afford it right now. I had gotten manicures a few times when I was in high school and I liked it, but always ended up pulling the nails off after a couple weeks. I would like to get my nails done again some time. I paint my own toe nails and see no point in getting a pedicure. I also don't really want other people touching my feet like that lol I have never gotten anything waxed at a salon. I am fine plucking my own eyebrows, but I would like to get a brazilian wax someday... I am just scared of the pain. Plus I can't afford that! | | | | | | |
