Is polyethylene glycol okay for cats if it is an ingredient L-Lysine?

I give my cat l-Lysine for feline herpes in his eye. It contains polyethylene glycol. I read an article that said make sure that the lysine does not contain propylene glycol because it causes blood disorders in cats. Does polyethylene glycol also effect the cats health negatively?
