My 93 Dodge D150 with 318 cid and automatic trans seems to have a trans pump or fluid pickup problem. If stopped for a few minutes at a drive through with trans in D, it frequently seems to freewheel when taking off. It will occasionally jerk when it finally catches. It does not slip, it just seems to lose pressure or hunt for a gear. Other times it just goes on with no problem. Maybe because I'm paying more attention lately, but it seems to have a whine sometimes. Truck has 127k miles and fluid and filter were changed about a year and 5,000 miles ago. Is this transmission controlled mechanically or electronically?
